Which Dasher Norma Brass?

Aside from shell holder fitment problems, are there any feeding or extractor issues with thick rimmed stuff? I plan to use this with a controlled round feed action.

Thanks.

Yes!

My model B Bat actions will not eject it. My model M's would if I chamfered the rim groove with a file.

I bad an action that the bolt face woukdn't release the bras, it was barx to pop off the extractor. I had to polish the extractor on my Barnard. just a quick rub with a light file on the inner surfaces, I did not open the groove of the depth of the extractor. took 3-4 minutes and works great.

I have 3 custom actions, 2 of the 3 work great with the early brass. The other would just need to have the extractor adjusted but I just leave a different barrel on it.

Will say this, the old stuff with the thick heads seems indestructible. I have one rifle running it with maybe 12 reloads per case. Primer pockets started out too tight, you almost have to use a crimp primer reamer before even getting a truing reamer in it. Then the first primer seat is one bugger of a push. After that it's fine - tight and stays tight.

I took a piece of thick rim up to where it had an ejector mark, backed down .2 and then loaded it 9 more times in a row. The pocket was still nice and tight, I only stopped the test because it started raining pretty hard.

I have some of he Lot #2 brass and I used a standard Hodgdon load of 35.8 Grs of 8208 with the 70 Gr Nosler BT. The primers looked perfect but the bold lift was VERY hard. Is this brass that much thicker in the web area ? I know that IMR 8208 XBR can vary from lot to lot but I have used this lot of powder in the 6 BR and 20 tac without any problems at all. Again, the primers (CCI 450) look perfect but the bolt lift was "way out there" !!! Any thoughts ?

That is a very hot load. 30-32 grains would be more like it.

Terry,
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. On the Hodgdon website, they recommend 35.8 Grs Of 8208 in the Dasher with the 70 Gr Nosler BT. I know they were using the Lapua Brass but it was exactly what they recommended for the Dasher.
