Hunting clothing

Huh....I saw it as a really rational question. Maybe I am to trusting of folks.
The questions that get me,
What is the best deer cartridge?
What is the best rifle?
What is the best powder?
How far can I shoot?
Etc,etc.

Yes the OP was rather vague, but so are a lot of other questions across the net.

These are the ones I won't respond too. A little bit of looking will give a LOT of results.

Me too, but now I don't know. I been checking my bank account twice a day to see what he's gotten so far. I guess the OP hasn't struck quite yet.

Guys, ryanjay11 is not far off track. In the last few months, I have seen exactly what he stated. Watched two different guys run up a very fast post count and then offer high dollar items for sale, collect the money and disappear. One here and another on a different site. The slimeball here is gone.......guess he was reported.

Yep, I am getting paranoid. These perps don't reload or shoot, so they have plenty of time to reel in a sucker.

......."collect the money".....you make it sound like it is all one sided. Doesn't some complete absolute moron have to first "give up the money" so that they can collect it???? Not saying these kinds of people aren't no good...but, they wouldn't be posting on here if they could hack into an account and clean it out alone. There are all kinds of wise sayings in this regard...a fool and his money soon part.....caveat emptor.......it takes two to tango......my personal one, don't expect the rest of the world to look out for and protect you in a business deal.......bottom line, crooks can "post" whatever they want, they will not be "collecting" anything from me.

I don't doubt what your saying on bit on the scam.
I thought I may have been sucked into one a while back. A very good deal popped up. I made contact with the seller through the open forum, forum pm, email, text and phone calls. It was a long drawn out deal. I gave the man the benefit of the doubt, always a good excuse as I knew people in his line of work and the crazy on call hours.
In between contact with the seller I did chase him around the net. He had a lot of various interest to say the least.
The short of it, I ended up with a very high quality firearm for a very very good price. From initial contact with the seller to it arriving at my FFL was about 5 months. Would I do it again I really truly doubt it.
On the other hand, I have been short changed by folks that frequent forums on a regular basis. That is why I prefer a email comment to any other, I keep all responses for things I buy or sell for around a year.

I find the over all majority of gun folks to be as honest as the day is long. Though ones excellent condition is only good to fair to others.

I hit the go button on a 20 caliber blank a year ago. Gent sent it to me to examine as it was a raw blank, unturned. Box showed up with a hole in it, no barrel. We jumped through the USPS hoops on both ends. Here is the kicker, I never gave him one red cent! He was out the insured shipping and he still thinks he owes me a barrel! He has sent me links to other barrel blanks and has offered to put towards it what I was going to give him for his blank.

Is that generosity, stupidity, or a scam of some sort?
He has not even gotten his insurance money as I still get a "we are still searching for your item" letter from USPS about every 45 days.

It only takes one to set up a scam! We, in general, tend to trust other shooters to be honest, whether selling or buying, because that is most often the case. The scammers are not of this breed, at all. These cats are slick and refining their methods constantly.

That being said, several friends have jumped on deals "to good to be true" and lost their money because they didn't do enough checking out of seller. Any purchase I make online is from someone I know or someone I have vetted extensively, with lots of communication. Msinc is correct, in that it is our responsibility to do everything possible to ensure we are dealing with an honest individual. If not, the fault is our own.

Really awesome posts so far Miril, Medath and Elmi! I can't wait to find out how to make $1000 an hour from home.
