I believe the .284 is one of the best 7mm cartidges out there good barrel life very accurate and fast with a long barrel. the magnums saum are barrel eaters and require much more powder and very little velocity gain for the extra wear and tear on the shoulder I get 2950 with 180 bergers out of a 31 inch tube. though that wouldn't make a very good hunting rifle as it is a little long but it will put an animal on its ask
