March HM optics

If that falls under 3.18 where anything that gives an advantage. Then custom bullets, sorting bullets and a bunch of other things would also fall under that rule. It is done for an advantage and you bring that to the line. Matt
I don't agree. The bullets are mentioned and the parameters are specified. How you load your ammo is your business. Find something else.

I hear what you are saying; that's the way I read the rule. If you are bringing a fan to cool your rifle while shooting, you do that to gain an advantage, I know we agree on that. How a referee would choose to interpret rule 3.18 in light of that is up for discussion. It would be useful to have a list of current equipment that got by the rules and is now in accepted use. Powered equipment is preferable.

I'm waiting to buy my personal little air conditioned tent from which I can shoot in total comfort, rain or shine, hot or cold.

I can hear in my mind's ear the gentle humming of 100 fans on the line.

"The first step involves self-awareness. The narcissist often notices that something is wrong with him and with his life – but he never admits it. He prefers to invent elaborate constructions why that which is wrong with him – is really right. This is called: "Cognitive Dissonance". The narcissist consistently convinces himself that everyone else is wrong, deficient, lacking, and incapable. He may be exceptional and made to suffer for it – but this does not mean that he is in the wrong. On the contrary, history will surely prove him right as it has done so many other idiosyncratic figures.

"This is the first and, by far, the most critical step: will the narcissist admit, be forced, or convinced to concede that he is absolutely and unconditionally wrong, that something is very amiss in his life, that he is in need of urgent, professional, help and that, in the absence of such help, things will only get worse? Having crossed this Rubicon, the narcissist will be more open and amenable to constructive suggestions and assistance."

Narcissists believe they are perfect and have rather strong defense mechanisms to avoid having to confront this obvious error in the perception of human nature. Admitting narcissism is contrary to the nature of the disease.

It’s always exciting to learn that I live rent-free in someone’s mind. In this case, I'm overpaying, especially for such a small, narrow place.

The fallacy of Argumentum Ad Hominem is defined thusly: the fallacy of attacking the character or circumstances of an individual who is advancing a statement or an argument instead of trying to disprove the truth of the statement or the soundness of the argument. Often the argument is characterized simply as a personal attack.

The fallacy of Name Calling, also a variant of the Ad Hominem abusive fallacy, occurs on those occasions where loaded or negatively-slanted epithets or appellations characterizing a locutor are used to cast doubt on the worth of the locutor's beliefs. Often such insults are used to devalue another's arguments or beliefs

So, how many of you have looked through a March HM? What were your impressions, and what comparisons can you share?

Boyd, I have one, and sold everything else. it is brighter, a non critical eye box, rock solid movement and parallel weight is good also. I have the 48 power hm and I can see bullet holes well past 300 so it is good for short range ..... Jim

After hearing all the problems people were having with their comps I sold mine to get a March 10-60 hm (as March is known to be rock solid) therefore i was unable to compare them side by side. Each time I got behind my comp I thought WOW this scope is so bright and clear. Now when I get behind my hm I think WOW this scope is clear. I've never looked through an original March 10-60 but have always heard they are a dark scope. I can say the hm is certainly not a dark scope but I don't believe it's quite as bright as the comp. If the comp was known to be rock solid, I would have never sold it. It was the best glass I've ever looked through, I just couldn't have confidence in it and didn't care to take a chance, although I can't say it did (or ever would) cause me a problem. What I can say about the 10-60 hm is that it is also impressive glass and I have confidence in it. I have no regrets. Barry.

Boyd. Like I've said in another HM post, my 48 is without a doubt brighter and clearer than my 10-60x52 tactical, my 2 36-55's and my 40&50. It is almost as clear & bright as my comp 15-55 2013 model, equal to both my Comp 42's, same with my one remaining 36 Valdada. I haven't had an issue YET, with my 15-55, but in the back of my mind I'm asking myself when is going to FK up on me, NOT GOOD in my book if you don't believe in your equipment, BUT one of the guy's that I sometimes compete against in IBS score, Ronnie Milford is a NF dealer and he has sold a bunch of them to a lot of southern shooters and some of those guy's still kick ass with those scopes every weekend. It's a screwed up situation with all the stuff going on with the 55 comps. I got a couple of e-mails from NF after I responded to them initially after Alex Wheeler posted those 4 55 comp scopes with an obvious POI issue. I asked them to check it out on this site and basically they told me that there was nothing wrong with their comp scopes, how their scopes are built by people who shoot in competition weekly, yardy, yardy, yarda, on and on about their scopes being bulletproof, BULLSHIT! I said well I beg to differ with your opinion, so go have somebody check Alex's findings and then you can see how bulletproof your 55 comp is. He got back to me and told me the same damn thing he told me the first time, so I said to myself that some of these people at NF have a denial problem because they have their head up their ass. I knew at that point is wasn't worth my time to let this conversation go any further.
