Lapua Brass, Lost 51 pcs Right Off the Bat!

I agree. 101 makes customers much more happy than 99. Bakers dozen?

Lapua is my go to brass. I can't imagine them not making this right.
How that happens is that no one is actually counting them, they are packaged by weight & if that run was a fraction heavier than normal, you'll get 1 less.

I bought 500 223 Lapua Match brass and had the same problem
Lapua is supposed to be the best made and has the word Match on the box which to me me stands for the best it can be and I hope they are not getting a little sloppy on their inspection process.
Not bashing and will still use them unless things go down hill further on 223 brass.

I think this thread has gone on long enough.
Lets end it.

Agreed I think the only thing wrong with the brass is it's discolored for whatever reason. If someone has a problem with a product they should go through the proper channels of returning it where they got it.

I think calling out someone who works for a very large company over the weekend on an Internet forum about a problem and expecting an immediate or any response over the weekend is asking a bit much.

I'm sure these guys have a life and enjoy thier weekend as much as anyone else.

Will the shine come back if tumbled, polished? Would love to know on this one brass. View attachment 1006713
Certainly. During each stage of the case forming process, after each annealing, the cases are pickled to remove the discoloration. After the final forming process, LAPUA leaves the annealing discoloration at the neck/shoulder junction in place. LC does essentially the same thing with the 5.56 NATO brass. Tumbling in media will remove the discoloration.

If the shine doesn't return, it may have come in contact with a chemical or vapor?? Ammonia, vinegar, or ethanol types??

The coloring is in no way an indication that it was annealed. And yes, it will come off when you clean the brass.

funny you mention Lapua .223 brass issues. i use Lapua brass for .223, 6BR and .308. only does the .223 brass shoot like crap (relatively speaking) when new. big difference compared to when fire formed in the rifle. this has been the case with 3 different .223 barrels i have used them in. on the other hand, my Lapua 6BR and .308 brass performs only slightly better when fire formed.
