Lets talk about 22 Dasher min/max loads, moly and nekkid bullets!

So, I'm building a 22 Dasher, and cant find min/max loads anywhere on the internet. Personally, I'm going to try moly with 80gr SMKs, Bergers, and ELD-M. I'd also like some info on lighter grain bullets for prairie dog towns. What are your favorite recipes?

Also, Just got my new style norma brass and they are small primer. You guys using lapua 6br brass have large primers, right?

I feel like I'm trying to get information about what the Freemasons do in their meetings. Call Dan Dowling? Why? Is he the almighty 22 Dasher man?

If you don't know who Dan Dowling is, you know little about the 22 Dasher. You asked for help. I can't think of a better source for help than Dan. Starting with 22BR load data is straightforward and readily available, or, www.6mmbr.com/22br.html, right here on this site.

A simple search on the net will provide a substantial amount of info and load data for the 22Dasher.

Yes.... as a matter of fact he is... the "Dasher Man"...... he invented it and cartridge was named after him....Precision Shooting did an article about 10-15 yrs. ago on it....... not many secrets left on the cartridge.... esp. with heavy bullets...... and the 22 Dasher is also an excellent cartridge.
Google the subject..... lotsa info out there..... including on this site....loads proven.....

Yes, Bill. That was the brainchild of Dan Dowling and Al Ashton. It started with the 22 Dasher, then the 6 Dasher. If I'm not mistaken, Al received the first cutting with the original 6 Dasher reamer, and Richard Schatz received the second cutting.

Edit: Add the "Waldog" to Dan's resume;)

ok, well I'm not finding any, except the one tennessee tack diver article, with one moly load in it. You guys starting with 22br starting loads or closer to max 22br loads?

If you are using the Dasher case, you can start towards the upper end of the 22BR load data. Have you already necked down your brass? What is the rate of twist in your barrel? Do you have the correct reamer for the Norma Dasher case?

I necked down 100 so far of the case of 250 I got. 7.7 twist yes, I ordered the Norma reamer.

I'm fireforming with Lapua brass, 31 grn h380, 69 Smk at 20 jam. Lilja 26" three groove 8 twist.Pretty small groups with that and gets a nice form with no pressure sings. Bout nickel size. I have .075 freebore and will work for the 75 A-max. The 80 Berger I have needs bout .150. Gotta pick a bullet and stay with it. I've worked up to 32.5 grn of h4350. Primers starting to show a little pressure and groups opened up but...

I'm also getting better results with annealed brass. No funny wrinkles . Still workin on the lengths though.
