700 223 extractor

Having problems chambering rounds, the extractor is taking a bite out of the brass. You have to really slam the shell to get the extractor to jump over the brass. Does the extractor need more angle filed in it or any other suggestions. This is the newer spring fit extractor.

Is it a new rifle ? Any new parts ? Have you cleaned behind the extractor ? Does a unprimed , fired case fit freely behind it ? Does the ejector move freely ?

It is a new rifle to me. The rifle is same as new. I have removed and cleaned the bolt face. Maybe helped a bit. It has a hard time getting over any brass. My nosler brass is very soft and it takes a pretty good bite out of it. Once the case is behind the extractor the case chambers normal.

It is a like new rifle. I did remove the ex and cleaned bolt face. It seems to move freely..just acts like the angle is off. Once a case go,s behind the ex it chambers fine.

IF, you removed the snap in extractor-
Throw it in the trash & install a new one.

I did remove it, cleaned the bolt face. It is at least better. I can live with it now. Thanks. Ps i did have plenty of tension when put back in. I was very gentle.
