What would you do with this 6mm bullet dilemma?

So I made a rookie mistake and had two Criterion 7.5 twist .243 barrels spun up for the new 115 dtacs, which I just received after a four month wait. Only problem is that I only bought 1 500 pack of the 115s, thinking I would test them first before buying a bunch more.

Well now they have been OOS ever since, and who knows when or if Tubb will be getting more. What do you think is the next best option? Should I try the new 110 smk (I've read they recommend 1x7 to stabilize)

I have a stash of 105 Hybrids, but was hoping to go a little heavier for both better wind performance and steel impact.

I really like the 105 VLD-H orange box bullets in my 243 but plan on trying the new 110 SMK this spring and summer,,lots of new high BC 6mm bullets to try,,surely you can find something to work

Buy 1 box / 100 count of the SMK's from your local sporting goods store and see if they work in a 7.5. The worst that could happen is they don't work. I doubt 35-40 bucks will break your bank and who knows>>>they may work!

Weight and high BC is not necessarily enough to make up for loss of precision. I tried the 110's in my 1:8 twist with less-than-great results as far as accuracy goes. No surprise there since I really don't have enough twist. However, they may work great in your 1:7.5 and you won't really know until you test some.

My favorite is the 105 Hybrid with enough Varget to send them at 2898fps. They suffer a bit in theoretical performance, but more than make up for that in accuracy. You gotta' test to know for sure.

Both the hybrid 105 grain and the sierra 107 grain have a ballistic coefficient of 547. I have a six BR that won't shoot the hybrids but loves the match kings. You got to try them untill you like them. I believe they sell sample packs. I don't know what the BC is on the dtact's but that is what really counts.

I called Tubbs earlier this week and they told me they would be here either 2 day or 2 weeks,i can't remember, its was one of the two. I asked if there was enough coming on this order or were they going to sell out quick, I was told they would have plenty that this order was for 1 million bullets. I asked if they were going to continue making them with the release of the new 110 SMK's and was told yes they plan to keep stocking them.Hope this helps.

Oh wow ok, wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the update!

I shot 110SMK's out of a 7.5" at 1k at our last match and they did great! 3080 fps at 100' asl. Give both the 110 and 115's a try. The 110's have a very short bearing surface compared to the 115 and I suspect you might be able to get a fair amount more speed out of them.

Stability calculator shows that he SMK's should stabilize in a 7.5 twist much like the Tubb's, should be a viable alternative while your waiting on the next batch to become available.

Both the 110's and DTAC's shoot about the same for me and around the same speeds. Try them both.

I shoot a 7.5 twist 6xc and berger 105s are great out of it. I want to try the dtacs, just havent got to it. It shoots so good with bergers i dont have much of a reason to change though.
