Can you explain in more depth? I'm sure I checked with my Hor. comparator and believe barrel is long in the throat meaning the bullet was barely inside the case when it touched the rifling. I have the bullet seated just into the shoulder area.

Long bullet jump can cause the phenomenon. When the bullet jumps excessively it doesn’t start into the rifling straight. This is more pronounced with shorter bullets. If you shoot a large number of shots you’ll see a central blob with a few fliers forming a rough circle. If you jump the bullets .020 to .030 it may diminish this. What is the jump now?
Looks like I have a jump of 0.142". Checking my notes I have loaded this bullet with a 0.037 jump when I broke the barrel in. I did confirm the bullet is just inside the case mouth when touching the rifling. I'm not sure why I loaded deeper, unless I was looking at others COAL with that load?
I had a 204 Ruger barrel that no bullet ever would reach the lands and everything had a huge jump. Swapped to a different barrel and got a shorter throat and jumping the 39gr Blitzking .015 made a huge difference.
