6xc and varget??

Hey Guys, I have been running my 6xc pretty much exclusively with H4350 with my 105 grainers. Does anyone have a good starting point for loads with Varget? Or should I just not even try varget? Was just thinking about it and it seems it may be a good options for me and what powders I have moving forward.
Thanks!

h4831 sc is better, good if you don't have h4350. best with heavy bullets. not enough room for the speed you'll want with 95gr and under. works great with 105's and heavier. use a drop tube

Although I've not tried Varget, The faster burning powders like 4064 and R15 have given me better results with lighter bullets. With the bullets weighing over 95gr; the 4350's, R17, N550, have shown me the best performance. JME. WD

You could look at the newer IMR 4451 and RL-16 as potential H4350 substitutes, heard some positive commentary on both of those.

As far as staring loads for Varget with the 105's, if you trust Quickload at all it predicts you'd need a charge about 3-4 grains less than H4350, max pressure around 38.5gr at COAL of 2.8. Pressure will be a bit higher than H4350 at matching velocities, so might be harder on the brass.

I have two 6xc's one a savage, the other an AMT both solid bottom single shots. Both like varget - hot loads of Varget 36+ grains, one a little more than the other both chronograph slightly above 3,000 fps and are great fun at 1,000 yards and less shooting.
