6xc and varget?

Has anyone had good success using varget in the 6xc with 105 to 107gr. bullets. I know the recomended go to powder is H4350 but I use varget in my 308 palma loads and my 6brx loads so I would like to keep it simple and use varget in my 6xc loads. Anyone with 1st hand experience or suggestions?

Yes, have used it, not as efficient, thus H4350. You will use LESS varget, start low and work up. But I think you will be disappointed with its performance in this cartridge. There IS a reason almost everyone uses H4350 in the 6xc. The one other powder thats show some promise but I havent had time to really test it fully is 4007SSC.

I tried 4350 in my 6XC and wasn't satisfied. I figured if Varget worked well with the 6 BR and 6 BRX it should work well in my 6XC. Last group off of the bench measured .167 with Berger 105's. I have had very good luck at the range , last 7 shots last week was all Xs at 600 yards.

I never tried it in my 6XC but I see no reason why it should not work just fine. I used Varget in a couple of my 260s with 140 and 123s and they shot very well with Varget.

Tried R17 and got some killer speed, but not the accuracy I am used to with H4350.

Yes there are some using it with good success. As I recall some of the most successful and revered shooters are using it. It is definately worth a try in the 6xc. There might be an article by German Salazar (spelling??) on the home page regarding his experiences.

I've used it successfully in mine, but it is set up differently than yours. I shoot 95gr bullets in mine.

It may not work in your rifle, but it is definately worth a try. WD

I get pretty good accuracy but speed is just not there with varget, H4350 solved that problem
