Christmas Traditions at our house...

Good flick. Ok guys: Honest answer. How many of you still have your first BB gun? I gave mine to a nephew. Kinda wishing I hadn't. I did buy myself a replacement, just in case of squirrel attacks.

I still own my second and third, 760 power master(wood version from 1974) and a Benjamin blue streak(pre 1980 I believe). Both function fine and will soon go to grand kids

Asked for a BB gun for Christmas in the mid 50's, dad said no but "I will get you a pellet rifle." Had a Benjamin 317 under the tree Christmas AM which I still have and it still shoots well.

I already had a 514 Remington and a .310 BSA cadet rifle. Not a bad start for a 7 year old. Still have the BSA, traded the 514 for a H&R Topper in .22 Rem Jet to hunt ground hogs with.

Dad's logic was sound the pellet gun is more accurate, capable of taking squirrels and rabbit and the pellets are less prone to ricochet.

Wore out two 881 Daisy's before I got a Winchester 450 (Diana 45) underlever made in 68. I still have it.

And while I don't watch that movie, we do play Grinch trivia every year. How many of you know how many "points" Max had BEFORE they were sawn off to balance him out? Or how many wreaths buried him the first time he tried to catch them as they flew out the chimney and down to where he waited? Or the rest of the phrase "you have termites in your smile, your brain is full of....you have garlic in your soul..."? Now puzzle me that one eh? ;):D

My dad would never let me have a BB gun as he saw all the neighbor kids getting into trouble with them. My 1st gun was a 22 I got when I was in 8th or 9th grade. No special Xmas traditions at my house but Tracers occasionally have something to do with our New Years celebrations(:

How bout a big turkey, traditional style and a smaller one stuffed with hot sausage and saurkraut done on the smoker for about 12 hours or so; a big John Martin ham bone in and skin on) on the gas grill for about 6 hours; 2-3 big chuck roasts braised and done cajun style in a big iron dutch oven on real fire for about 6 hours and finally, three big pig stomachs stuffed with loose sausage, bread stuffing and potatoes. 35-40 people and everyone passes out after this meal.

Yum!! How do I get invited?:)

Milk Punch before opening presents.

Fill a blender 2/3 full of ice cubes.
Add whole milk to the level of the ice, not too full or it will foam over.
Add 6 good "glugs" of bourbon.
Add 1 Tablespoon sugar.
Add 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract.
Blend til ice is crushed.
Pour into big fancy glass or silver goblet (you have several, don't you?) and top with a few gratings of fresh nutmeg.

Repeat as necessary.
