Joystick rest????

Well, now I'm on the fence. Just became aware that I can purchase a Shade tree "top" for my Bald Eagle Slingshot rest. Mind you, I don't shoot benchrest. Just want something a little easier and quicker to make minor adjustments with. So many toys so little time!!

Will the Shade tree top hold up a 20 lb F-Open rifle?

Speed seems to be the answer. My only issue with mine was getting them set just right so they were still smooth, but the weight of the rifle didn't drop the front on me.

Get the weight set up or make them and remove the springs you don't need as much tension, it will get slicker than snot on a door knob...jim

Well, I decided to pull the trigger on the Shade Tree product. Just got off the phone with Butch. I only know him on the phone but, he sure is an easy going guy.

I have Butch's Shade Tree on a Bald Eagle base. It's very nice for load development, varmints and low level competition. Sometimes it takes another nudge or two to get the crosshairs just where you want it as the movement is not 100% smooth. Maybe my 17 lb varmint guns have something to do with that. Overall it is a good value and I would hate to do my shooting without it. OTOH I would buy a SEB if I was involved in more serious BR or F class competition.

Well, I got the confirmation...It's on the way. I will try it out right away as I'm working out a new load for my new rifle.
