Glad to see some honesty here. I work in an AS9100/ ISO-9001 registered aerospace machining company and I will argue that you can't even reliably measure to .0001" with hand tools, much less make parts that flat.
What do you mean, you can't measure that close with hand tools? We have guys on here that measure to a half thou with Guangdong Province made calipers they bought for twelve bucks on ebay.![]()
Hog was making a funny. Its funny to me how alot of these guys toss these measurements around like measuring to 1/8 with a tape measure. "My China Digital reads 1.0003 so it must be gospel"Thats what they think huh? I guess we wasted $250K on our ZEISS Contura CMM's that we use for measuring when we want to take the talk out of the micrometer measurements
