200 yard mini Palma (just for fun)

Anyone else here enjoy 200 yard mini Palma?
I enjoy mainly because it's just plain FUN!
Plus;
- doesn't wear out barrels.
- less travel
- no reloading
- I find it's less forgiving to position "errors" so I don't get lazy.
-- practice time is less
-- still challenging

I love shooting Mini-Palma - both 200 yd. w/ NRA 200 yd. targets and the 100 yd. Mini-Palma targets with three reduced targets per sheet for 800-900-1000. Can not seem to find anyone here in Oregon that wants to start fun matches in this discipline. Great wind practice that's for sure.

Yup. At 100yd there's scaled down 800, 900 and 1000yd Palma targets. At 200 the wind gets really challenging and we use 200 yard small bore targets (I forget the official target number).

I love Rattlesnake but it is a hump for me. 400 miles is a ways to go for fun shoots!

A 21 is the Target for 200yd Rimfire. Its no joke with Iron sights and a sling.

Where do you purchase the 100 yard reduced 800, 900 and 1000 yard Palma targets? My club only has a 100 yard range. I've been looking for a target that simulates the longer ranges.

I would drive to Albany or Tri-County for Fun.
If you have time on your side of the mountain maybe you could look into it ?

Mini Palma looks intriguing. I shoot a 1413 at 100 yds for fun, but how would you set up your sights to allow aiming at 200 yds? Think I need about 26-28 moa to hit at 200, but not sure if my rear sight has that much adjustment

With a 27" bbl my come-up is 40 minutes from a 50 yd. zero. That is with R50 or any other standard velocity match ammo. Some use bloop tubes but I never have. I tried a brick of R100 and had some major elevation issues with one lot. Traded that back to RWS for another and it worked OK. Did not see any accuracy advantage and we are all reading wind anyway so back to standard. Norma Match works very well for practice especially at $4/box every once in a while.

We shoot 100 mini-palma every month(Roch NY) with an annual(or so) 200.
200 is ok but tbh, I think it's more trouble than it's worth.
Mainly, seeing the holes can be impossible on bad days.
Some guys who would shoot really don't want to reconfigure their sights or scope.

40 minutes sounds awful high.
The online calculator says 26 and about that works for me with several standard velocity ammos and 4 rifles.

I have shot that distance many, many times in the past with 40gr. lead match ammo rated at 1080-ish (more like 1000fps out of my barrel) fps.. Has been 40 minutes on my rifle sights as well as everyone else who was competing with me. Let us know how it works out for you.

I have done it many times with different rifles and ammo , 50 to 200 is right at 200 clicks of my 1/8 moa scopes or 100 clicks of my 1/4 moa scopes so about 25 moa. I don't know how we can be so far off each other. My 25moa is very close to the calculated value for standard velocity ammo. The calculator says 40moa should be good for about 275 yards.

Perhaps my using iron sights explains it. For us "Iron Horses" our come-ups are dependent upon the distance from the rear sight to the front. Different barrel lengths mean longer or shorter pivot points through the front. Regardless, the .22lr can make it to 200 with no problems if the gun likes the ammo.
