Help with a scope..

20160507_120437.jpg

I need to get a scope for thia 6BR i built. Its for my wife for hunting. Looking at about an $800 budget...

Need:
30mm
Mil reticle
Mil turrets
FFP
Anywhere from 4-25x variable

I dont like the vortex viper pst.. i looked through one and it wasnt that clear... she likes target shooting too, and ill end up teaching her a little longer range shooting too..

Wondering about swfa or sightron, or any others i should look at....?

Either SWFA or Sightron is a good choice. You can buy new Sightrons at very low prices at bigsupplyshop, com, atleast the best prices I've seen. I have 3 Sightrons and 5 SWFA, I tend to be in what I assume is the minority and favor SWFA. Their 3-9x with HD glass and upgraded turret is a favorite of mine.

How does their HD glass compare to the non HD of the swfa fixed 10 with parraelx.. i have two fixed 10s and like them, but never seen the HD..

Its better, not like magical better but it is brighter, clearer. I have a SWFA 5-20x with the HD glass, at the higher powers it is a joy compared to most other scopes. Comparable to my nightforce ATACR.

I have one of the Sightron FFP scopes. Nice scope, good value. As previously posted, bigsupplyshop.com sells them, $796. 18. They are not mildot.

Is there a particular reason for the 30MM and MIL reticle?

I only use mil reticle/mil turret scopes. I dont like moa. Mils are easier to use to do everything that i do do... easier to train people with when you factor hold overs and the math behind it all

You might look for a used 4-16 SHV F1 Nightforce. The warranty transfers to the new owner. It has great glass for the price point, turrets have great feel. It has an exposed elevation turret, but cap windage turret. I have a ATACR and the SHV F1 is almost as clear. It will also hold it resale value as long as you take care of it.

I had a Vortex PST and on the SHV F1, all the important items like glass, turrets, and zero stop system are much better the Vortex.

Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50mm, G2DMR Reticle ET6245FG

Should be able to find them for around $800

G2 reticle is nice
30mm tube
Long eye relief
1/10 Milliradian clicks
FFP

I don't actually own one of these,... but I do have a 3.5-21 dmr and 4.5-30 xrs, both 34mm tubes and I love them both. For around $800 I thought this 6-24 might fit your needs. Tho now that I think about it, it might be a hair too heavy for hunting.

Edit:
Forgot to mention this scope has the Bushnells "Bulletproof Guarantee". So if you're a U.S. citizen, you have up to 1 year from the time of purchase to return it and get your money back, no questions asked, so the guarantee says.
