If dogs are on the menu than the .17 Remington in a 9tw to handle the 30's would be in order. JMHO
Do you mean the 17 Javelina? That case is a lot more work to make. The shoulder is pushed back and then cut down. Efficient, but a lot of work. A straight 17/222 would be a lot easier. If your worried about barrel life just shoot the 17 Rem and don't load it to max.as for the 17's does any one have a 17 javelin.
Words of the wise..it appears only nosler has brass available for the 17 rem. Right now..I'm sure is just to try and force people to but the new production hornet..I'm going to go with the 17 rem..was going to order brass today but wanted to think it over some more....I need to just finish one project before starting another..my shooting Affliction is very costly now thanks to you guys..My vote is for the 17 Rem since you already have the FB. I don't see the hornet as useful or popular enough to be a long term investment. If you do go with the 17 hornet buy all the brass while you can.
Check patsreloading.com he has new 17 Rem R-P at $71 per hundred new brass.Words of the wise..it appears only nosler has brass available for the 17 rem. Oh..who said get one of both..haha..I would and then sell off the one I don't use..but my wife would have me sleeping in the garage..I'm pretty much a home body, don't drink, or do drugs..I don't smoke..I need to spend my money on something right..hell I don't even go to the mall for clothes..I order everything on line and it comes right to my front porch..the only time I leave the house is to buy powder or reloading components, I leave to visit the gun club and shoot..and go to work..I'm pretty boring..but got some fun, cool guns and I'm happy .
I would think the nosler is more consistent for 9$ more..maybe notCheck patsreloading.com he has new 17 Rem R-P at $71 per hundred new brass.
