We just lost our last beloved Basset Hound Lucy yesterday. She made it just past 14 years old and died peacefully with my wife and myself at her side comforting her passage. We sure did love that old hound dog.
Lucy last year:

Anyway, and the reason for this OT post: I'm getting too old to continually pick up 70 lb. hound dogs, and are now considering a pair of Beagles for our next pups. However I understand there are three "sizes" of this breed, and knowing nothing about them, figured I'd ask the crew here, as this group seems to be well educated and versed in a wide range of subjects. And I know that many here are dog lovers.
We're wanting the smallest version of Beagles, and if anyone knows about this, or better yet, can point us to a reputable breeder, we'd sure appreciate any assistance.
Lucy, rest in peace my little puppy-girl. Thanks you guys.
