Thats what happens when you stick your finger in a belt sander. It only took me one time to learn its not a good idea :)

On problem barrels I have gone past .100" jump. It didnt work but I did try it. Usually my loads end up between .010" in the lands and .010" off the lands.

What do you normally find is the distance between a hard jam and the touch?

Between 10 thousands either direction in my dashers. 100% of them. Berger vlds, 103 vapor trail, h4895, Varget, Rl15. If it won't do it's job with one of those, take it off and buy a kreiger.

Tom

Thanks Tom, I've had a bunch of custom barrels and I have to agree with your choice on that one ;)

Alex, thank you for the vid. I went out and checked on the new set up and was 20 thou off, I had not removed the FP and Eject. ;)

Clear and simple video without being long and tedious. Quite informative.

You just did many of us a great service. Thanks.

Im going to be the critical one and point out a problem....at the 23 second mark, he makes the statement that "it doesn't rely on feel" and then at the 3:20 mark he starts talking about feeling the click rather than being able to hear it...Im not saying this is not a good method...but to say that it doesn't rely on "feel" is not true. and he says it again at 4:33. However, this was a very informative video and I appreciate the time you spent to provide this for us.

Thats true. What I was trying to say was with some tools you can push the bullet in the lands different amounts and that requires a "feel" to do it consistently. This way you have to feel for the click, but its either there or its not. So I should have said it doesnt require an acquired feel.
