Zombie Max or Varmegeddon Bullets

How do these compare to their counterparts, the V Max Hornady or Varmint Ballistic tip Noslers. Seem quite a bit cheaper, how do they shoot? Are they the same bullet with just a Promo name change. This topic may have been covered before, but I can not find it . I have had exceptional accuracy with the Nosler Varmint Ballistic in both 22 and 6mm. Thanks for any input you may have.

To my knowledge the V-max and Z-max are the same thing.

I use the 55grn Nosler Ballistic tip in .223Rem and 223Wssm I have a box of the 55grn Varmegeddon I haven't loaded yet.
The Varmegeddon is flatbase while the Ballistic tip is boat tail, and I guess that's why I've been dragging my feet loading the Varmegeddon. I just have such superb accuracy with the boattailed BT I haven't seen the need to try,, :o

Vmax and Zombies are not the same. Take a close look and then take a few measurements and it will show the obvious difference. I have purchased Zombies and will test them next season. Shot Vmax from the Swift last year as the lead had grown so long I needed a longer 50 grain bullet to get close to the lands. They were exceptionally effective.

Oh Yeah, :P
One has an orange tip the other is green.

If you really want to nit pick measurement, I'dd suggest you pick up a box of each this year, then a box of each next year,,making sure they're from different lot's and measure yourself again.
Some folks seem to think all bullets from the same manufacturer are the same each run,,
,if that was the case then nobody would ever need to sort a box of bullets nor would folks buy bullets in 500-1000 counts just to achieve similarity.
Sorry friend, it's just the nature of bullet making.

Hornady even say's they are the same.

I use the Noslers 60 BT (very accurate over H335) and bought a box of the 50 Z-Max and shot them over the weekend. 24" Savage 1-9 223 Rem. Used Win brass, H322 (got 16# for $150 so using it up), and Fed 205M. 24gr of H322 netted me consistent 5 shot groups less than 1/2 MOA. I could probably get better, but my glass isn't for bench resting.

Using it as a cheap target round for less than 300 yards. Definitely serves its purpose and I like the price of $60/500.

The most notable and obvious difference between the Z-Max and V-Max is that the Z-Max has a cannelure on the jacket. I called Hornady and inquired about any other differences, and the rep said they were otherwise identical. I have not measured anything to verify this though.

500 Z-Max is $10.00 less than it's red-tipped counterpart though.
