Zerroing a turret

Hi,

When you zero your scope , to set back the turret at zero , i unscrew the turret pull it UP to unlock , then when i turn the turret to bring it back to zero it is still clicking.

Is the crosshair still moving and change my point of inpact ?

I’m not sure what scope you have, but it appears that you unscrew the screw on top of the turret, pick up the turret and move to zero, push down on the turret and re-tighten the screw on top.

And you will need to hold the turret in place while loosening/tightening.

It is a no name scope with no instructions i buy from a company spécialise in microscope . I pay $ 125 for it , New ..... maybe a perfect scope for my old rem. 788.

The only thing i know , it is a 10X x 40X x 50 mm. With a 1/8 MOA. And illuminated.

For now i like it and do the job. For the price was not expecting much.

No info what are the dots and lines in it mean and the specs.

If you have clicking when you turn the loosened turret cap, it appears that once you have the scope sighted in, you should loosen the screw completely, pull the turret cap completely free, reposition it so the '0' is over the mark on the scope turret base (or if there isn't one, make a clear scratch or even paint a point with white marking paint where it can easily be seen, it really doesn't matter where you put it since it is really just a reference point), push the turret cap back down aligned with your mark and, holding everything tight, tighten the cap screw.
As to the dots and lines, I am assuming you mean on the reticle. Without the specs, you will have to determine their values by trial and error. Good luck to you.

Yes, if you hear/feel clicking the cross hair is moving and changing your point of impact.

I'll reinforce what SSL said. I have a couple scopes with that style turret. To reset to zero, remove the screw completely, take the turret off, align it to zero and reinstall.

Another tip for a scope without zero stop. Set scope at your base aero, 100 yards or whatever. With a silver Sharpie draw short line on the turrent tight up against the adjusting knob. Now you have a zero reference. If you want to change it wipe it off with a drop of Hoppes.

When take out the screw , i have resistance to try take off the turret. I dont force it out to risck damage something .

Is it normal to feel resistance ? Do i have to force it out ?

My scopes are probably not the same brand name as yours, but on mine there are rubber o-rings that provide friction to the turret, and this must be overcome to pull the turret off. It is not a hard stop though...hard to describe. I can get pictures of mine and post them in about an hour or so from now.
