Scope turret question

Some scope turrets are not very tall. On my Weaver scope it is only 1/4 inch tall of surface that I could use to have a turret label made to stick on turret ( no after market company makes turrets for Weaver Scopes. ). Question how hard would it be to modify another companies turret to fit or have a Machinest make a turret or I was thinking about glueing a 2nd taller turret in top of the turret that is on scope to give more surface space to ad more info numbers and larger print size numbers to scope turret. Any ideas ? Maybe I have not drank enough coffee today and not thinking right. Ha ha ha. Thanks. Martyd

Probably the Weaver doesn't have enough elevation built into it. I make a click chart in MOA and laminate it. Then I tape it to my stock. Very easy to click to yardage even a at long distance. Matt

Dkhunt14..... Thanks for the tip. It looks like i might have to do that till I get a better scope. Really like this weaver scope. 8-32x50 exterme classic has 36 moa. I added a 20 moa scope mount to give me more moa. Martyd

I really don't understand why you think you need such a tall turret to print all of this supposed info. The reason no one makes a turret that tall is because there is no need for it. If you cant keep track of 1,2, or even 3 revolutions on the turret, than something is amiss. Get a Nightforce with zero stop, or some similar scope and if you loose track of where u are just screw back down to zero and restart. It really isn't that complicated.

I know it is not that complicated it is just costly buying a night force scope or another scope. That is kind of my point. A taller turret lets say on a weaver , or other mid price scopes would be a big plus for the consumer and would not ad hardly any more money to the scope. Going from 1/4 tall turret to 1 inch turret would cost nothing And would make there scope a winner. Just saying. Martyd

You still may not get to a thousand with that setup. It depends where 100 yard zero was and where the scope was at the point. I have had setups where with 45 minutes you could not get a 1000 yard zero or just barely make it there. Matt
