Ya I was thinking 200 scope looking at 4 x 20 30 mm I got time still waiting on rifle parts . Thanks again for input. If your chasing coyotes I would zero at 200 especially if your night hunting. If using a thermal then 40 yards which will be a similar result but much easier to setup.
I will go out and shoot the rifle and get my zero and use the hold over lines to know where I’m at and write it down on a piece of paper and put packages tape over it for quick referenceBullet choice may make a slight zero change, if your talking a true zero. A lot of shooters just read the box(ammo) chart, and if they are close say they have a zero. Some coyote bullets out of a 22-250 I actually will have a 2nd zero (dropping thru) of 220-240 yards.
ok thanks guys good info .You might want to download the JBM ballistic program (it's free) and reference the maximum point blank zero function. This will tell you what you need to know.

Those charts are worth gold money when you only get “1shot”.I run a 200 yard zero on everything as well.
When I set up to call, I'll range landmarks to find my 200 or so perimeter, so any varmint that stops & gives me a good shot inside that circle gets it.
I'm also prepared for the wary.....

Yes nice to see how you made your charts again. Those charts are worth gold money when you only get “1shot”.
good info guys thanksI use a ballistics program like JBM to determine point blank range. For my .243 rifle this is close to 300 yards with the bullet path no more than 2" over the crosshairs or 2" below. I hold center of fur out to 275, top of the shoulder at 300. If thye are hung up farther than that, I have time to look at the drop chart on the side of my stock and dial up or hold over for that range.
YUP,.. THIS,.. ^^^^ Hold on FUR with, a Medium Weight ( descent BC ) Bullet @ 3,400- 3,500 FPS to 300 Yds, using a 200 yard Zero,.. in the .22-250 / .22 Creed's.I use a ballistics program like JBM to determine point blank range.
