Zermatt RimX build

I finally took posession of my RimX action Friday evening and have just begun working on it today. I will not be done with this project for a little.while as I am waiting on parts but hope to update this thread as I move forward.
So far the build goes like this.
Zermatt RimX action w 20 MOA rail
McMillan stock (purchased on this site)
Shilen match 4 grove 1:16 twist barrel chambered and fitted by me with a custom reamer (20.5" but may go to 17.5" if I add a can later)
TriggerTech diamond trigger
Nightforce NX8 with seekins rings (rings on order)
Don't remember which bottom metal? but I got it bedded in today

I still need the rings and I need to bed the stock to the action. In addition I will need to get the gun to balance, if necessary by adding weight where needed.

I have started shooting the NRL/PRS type shoots with rimfire but I did not want to go whole hog and turn this rifle into a dedicated extra heavy build and I did not want a chassis. I'm trying to bridge the gap and keep the rifle usable for hunting, plinking or other. So far I am loving the lines and am tickled with how things are progressing.

I have many boxes of ammo here to try and when I get around to shooting I will upddate on accuracy and reliability.

Nice Weight and the balance looks, good ! I like, the 20" Barrel length ( very proportionate ) and with, Stand Vel / Match, ammo a .22 doesn't make, much noise, anyway. I thought that, I had read on another Post that, you were,.. out of "Work" or, laid off ? ONLY, in America, can a Guy build, a NICE $4,000. custom Rifle,.. when out of, work ! Take care and, keep us posted on it ! Makes my, "Poor Mans, Kidd",.. AKA, 10-22 Ruger,.. look like, a HillBillie's Gun !

July 31 is my last day but I had another job lined up until this covid deal caused a hiring freeze. Now it's gonna get a little rough. Been at my present job 20 years so I have a reasonable severence package, but my plan is to double up on paychecks and go straight back to work.

Looks good. I have the same except going to use MPA chassis I got from my son. Will use Shilen #5 ratchet @ 21” with JGS chamber. Probably start shooting next week.

Is that a McM Game Warden stock? Like the shape of it - I have a Game Scout on one of my Howa Mini rifles in 6RAT that works well for me, but the Scout's forend is quite a bit thinner than your stock's. I called Manners yesterday and ordered one of their PRS1T flattop stocks for a RimX build with a Bartlein in a long-shank sendero contour. Floyd didn't have the inlet specs for the new RimX action yet, so not sure how long it'll take them to finish the inlet on the flattop stock. Probably won't have the action until July, so there should be plenty of time for Manners to get the info & convert it into a CNC program...

Bedded, proper scope mounts and is nearly ready to play. Have to make a range card holder real quick and get a piece of innertube to go over the bell. FYI that is not a factory sunshade. I made it out of a vortex shade I had here. When covered in innertube it will be fine.
I will shoot today to play around but when I get good weather I will do some serious work and post pictures.

Weight as pictured is 10# 8oz

With mag and bipod its 11# 11oz

My Rimx today on first ammo tryout. I like it and it is almost as good as my 1948 Winchester 52B. My Anschutz 1907 a close second.

50 yards all 10 shots except S&K Standard plus as only had 5 rounds. No foulers between ammo changes. I like it. No failures to load, fire, and eject. Really like it but at 12 lbs 12 ozs ready to shoot, not a lightweight.
