YouTube Suspends Major Gun Manufacturer, Bans Instructional Gun Videos

While I don’t agree with YouTube’s policy, it is incorrect to assert First Amendment rights in that context.

It is a private forum, just like this one. First Amendment rights do not apply. They apply to the public space. As in owned by the public, not a private entity.

Yes, it is so large that it has many aspects of public space. But, it is not publicly owned.

Suppose someone came into your living room and started making what you considered unacceptable statements. Wouldn’t you want to be able to ask them to leave or at least cease the unacceptable comments?

Yep, I have no problem with a private company choosing who they want to do business with. I dont care if they want to pull my videos, I dont care if a guy does not want to bake a gay cake, I dont care who you let in your bathrooms or if you let people smoke in your restaurant. True conservatism is letting private business operate as it pleases. Whether it pleases you or not. Controlling them is right out of the liberal play book.

This.
There is a huge financial market to the first "successful" channel that supports all things shooting / hunting after Youtube goes into full mode starting April 1.
I hate that we've lost all intelligible ability to discuss differences and just outright get "banned" from differing opinions and lifestyles but that 'Merica 2018.

It won't matter... The same people that control Google and Youtube control the ISPs. Yall don't get it. The gear is privately owned. The back end as well as the front end is controlled. As well as the companies that send you your WIFI. The cell phone companies, the cable companies. It is all owned by the same people now.
YouTube is owned by Google. Google is a privately held company.

I agree totally..... but I can choose not to support them too. This was just an FYI thread.... I never said they were doing anything "wrong" just wanted members here to be aware they were doing something we probably won't like.

Yes....Full30 has been around for a bit , and is growing.

....trouble is , it'll take years to gather enough steam to be effective. Remember , YouTube lost money for years before it was picked up by Google and got some real financial backing behind it. Im all for the freedoms of "Your business , your rules" , until it starts to get taken over by a wealthy corporation with an agenda ...... remember back in the 80's when the .gov forced AT&T to split up because of the monopoly that they had created ?
Food for thought.

The problem here is that the line between public and private when it comes to these CONGLOMERATS is very thin if there at all. Big Biz financially supports their politician/lawmaker of choice while the politician votes them tax breaks and federal funding off the backs of the taxpayers. They ARE really ONE!!
The whole political thing is about a PLAY ON WORDS, and the END of the agenda is ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT ie: NEW WORLD ORDER.
We need Teddy Roosevelt back and have for a long time to break them up into a million small pieces.

They are NOT "Assault Rifles" They are "Assault CRIMINAL Rifles" for assaulting criminals.

I didn't read all of the posts here, but I just went over and watched a bunch of Gordy Gridders videos...so..they aren't all gone.

Reading what they wrote about banning gun videos it would seem to me that they are talking about auto-sears, bump stocks, suppressors, and some other class 3 items and the gunsmithing or "how to install" videos pertaining to these items. I expect to continue to see reloading videos, barrel installing videos etc. Guess we'll have to wait until April 1 to see.

Whatever the problem may be, "public ownership" is not the answer. NPR radio and PBS telly are as Marxist as the worst of the privately held Bolshe-babies and Leninist want-a-bees. Just look what the FBI, CIA, DOJ, IRS, and ATF were stooping to during the recent US Marxist regime. We have entered an age of massive Marxist media propaganda, the like of which you have to go back to the old Soviet Union or the German National Socialists to see. My hope is that the Marxists have overplayed their hand. The Bolshe-babies have been loosing elections and bankrupting some of the states. It's going to be "nip and tuck" for a while. Private enterprise responding to opportunities, and the government minimally disallowing the amalgamation of these privately held companies into massive media oligarchies, would go a long way to righting the ship.
In my opinion, it is the spread of Marxist propaganda from the universities into the government high schools, and next into the government middle and government grade schools. Well under way. "Rainbow coordinators" in the grade schools, is common is not publicized. The government schools are the greatest governmental monolith of the State. Privatize education, and you're on your way to some long-term solutions. Maybe the kidos will have enough sense eventually to realize the absence of AR15's will not usher in the juvenile-lead utopia their Marxist mentors promote. Distopia or Stupid-topia? The burning question keeping the Bolshe-babies awake at night!

Alex, I agree with your sentiment, but I think that it is more Libertarian than Conservative.

I find more that is appealing in Libertarianism than in either major party’s ideology, but don’t agree with all of it, either.

The way I understood it, it wasn't going to be Youtube itself automatically shutting down the videos in question - there is just too much content to scour. They would be relying on self-policing and "good samaritans" flagging content in question. Pull down your own content that violates the new policy, you get to keep your channel. Someone flags a video and it's found to be in violation - you lose your channel and all of your videos go away. I don't think videos will disappear instantaneously by any means, but I'd bet it picks up speed very quickly.
