Your thoughts on Rainier barrels please

I'm looking to build a AR15 upper using an accurate 22 ARC barrel for Coyote hunting and came across a 22" stainless Rainier barrel. Are they accurate? Do they have a good reputation for quality? Thanks Guys!

Not a 22 ARC but I have a couple of Rainier UltraMatch gas gun barrels that shoots bugholes. Excellent barrels. Yes, I would buy again!!

So, does it shoot in the 2's, 1/2MOA, 1MOA? 5rnd groups or 10round?
Friendly reminder it's a gas-gun. Factory Hornady 109s shoot @ .750.....I was quite surprised how well off the shelf ammo shot. I ended up going with N540 and Berger 105 hybrids and with a little tuning, it's a half-moa gun. I built it specifically to shoot AR-Tactical matches.

Thanks for that. When discussing accuracy I just like to see numbers instead of descriptions like bugholes or one hole groups. Even better is pictures of several targets. My view of a bughole may be different than yours. And a one hole group can be well over an inch in dia at 100yd. Bangs steel is another one. Is the steel 6"dia at 300yd? Or is it one of those 'coffin' targets at 100yd?

A brief internet search says that Rainer makes their own barrels, but I could not find out if they are cut or button rifled.

They used to use Shilen for their ultra match barrels in the past. They don't make anything. They spec their barrels and someone else makes them. At least thats how they were when Shilen was used.
just look up who makes polygonal rifling and guess from there.

The Ultramatch barrels are now Criterion button barrels and chambered by Craddock. I also have one of their older Shilen Ratchet rifleing barrels. They would list the maker (Shilen) on their older UM barrels but don't say who makes the blanks now...officially.

I have a couple of the newer one's (300BO and 6.5 Grendel) and both shoot very well. At least one person on SH had an issue with a couple barrel extensions on his UM barrels, but mine have all been fine with no issues.

No 22 ARC here though. Rainier Arms does not make the UM barrels and I doubt they make the others listed as Rainier Arms.

22 ARC in a Saami .131 fb chamber does ok with long 80gr bullets. A .090 FB (22 grendel) does better with 53-69gr.,I have one (.090fb) with a Mullerworks 8T that is 1/2” all day with 64gr TGK. 22” rifle plus 1 gas. It is filthy with a suppressor. I would go Rifle +3 in a 22” if you plan to run a can. I may cut this one down to 18” just to clean it up.

I'm looking at them right now for a .223 barrel. Looks like they have a pretty good return policy stated on their website. Return it for what ever reason. I'm not looking at the ultra match (just 1.5moa is fine for my application). They seem to be hit or miss but people will always post about the bad on the net while a lot of good and great goes unnoticed. If you have a govx account you can get a small discount from them, 5% I think.
