Yea…..another 30BR story.

So I wanted a backup gun for the Tackdriver. Because I can ALWAYS justify why I need another gun. I wanted it to be as close as possible to my main gun. And I recently found one at a great deal on this site. Panda RB,LP,RE. It needed some stock work, weight system and had to be green anyway. Testors model car rattle can paint and some rattle can clear coat and took off the single rings and mounted some double screws.

I had a great 30BR barrel from my main gun in the safe. This barrel has 5150 rounds on it. The chamber was cut with the same reamer by a different guy and was .001 longer. I threaded this barrel on the new gun and shot three rounds in the dirt out back. The fired brass was .003 longer than fired brass from my main gun. So I knew my current rounds would shoot good. I mounted a new scope and shot one shot at 50 yds behind the house. I clicked the scope and went straight for a five shot group.

So my backup gun can shoot the same rounds as my main gun. Or is it now my main gun?

Wow! Hard to imagine that barrel has over 5000 rounds through it. So it hasn't been set back at all?

I sent him this picture of my 5 shot group at 300 yards so I put him to work, I did this on Wednesday morning and yes the last shot is the one that got away!! That's my 6BR case to the left.

No and the load I used for those 5150 never had the seating depth adjusted. After the first 150 rounds it’s had nothing but Danzac coated bullets and only gets cleaned when I’m done shooting it at the end of the day. Usually about 140 rounds per match. The last match I shot with it was an IBS 100/200/300 score match and I dropped 1 point on the last shot using my last loaded round because I wasn’t man enough to hold out where I knew I needed to hold. Placed 2nd due to X count. Here to support the cartridge. Not my mostly bad shooting!

Man up dude! Hold where you know it needs to go! No guts no glory!! Probably no glory anyway but sounds good! LOL
