Was out in Albuquerque a few years ago and happened into a big gun store. Pistol cases the length of the store all down the right side with rifle cases behind, same all across the back. In the back left corner, bottom shelf, in the back of the case, piled up were three XP's. Obviously not highly regarded as very sale-able. After a rather low-ball offer on my part, they were all on the way back to Indiana.
First was this one,

It was a pretty easy remodel needing only some scope mount work, pieces/parts to attach the bipod (yeah I know it is not ideal, but there were dovetails machined into the barrel there), and some carving on the interior of the stock for inletting.
The result:

Next up was this one:

Little more work here. Stock was super tight but finally got it off and it actually sold pretty quickly. The action had been milled out and a crude magazine attached. Made a block to return it to single shot. Had to machine off the bloop tube, turn and polish the barrel shank, and make a special shim for the back of the scope mount. Existing tapped holes in the side of the action were not right for a bolt release, so made a custom one. Got everything re-blued up and turned out pretty good.

The stock it was going in was another story. Not sure whose it was, but there was not even one surface that was even close to presentable.
