XCaliber vs The Other Barrel Makers

I own 2 of their barrels but not enough trigger time on them to do them justice.

So I will say this. If your rifle has not been properly blue printed before a rebarrel it is hard to say what is what!!!

Likewise how good is the gunsmith that fitted the barrel???

I have found that even something like a Adams & Bennet barrel which as I understand it was a Green Mountain Barrel product could shoot fantastic on a true action when installed by a good or decent gunsmith.

I built more than a few daily drivers both I4's and I6's that would spin up to 10,000 RPMS all day long and still go 300,000 miles easy. Some of them forced induction. Just as sure as I am sitting here typing this I can assure you that the machine work had to be impeccable and the parts, assembly, break-in, lubrication choices all mattered! You where not getting to this point with OEM parts and bolt-on's!

A barrel is only as good as the machine work done to install it, the consistency of the load, the skill of the shooter! Everything effects everything!

If I have a poorly machined version of say a Ruger M77 MkII as crooked as a British Girls teeth and I install a Premium Hart, Lija, Douglas XX barrel installed by a very average C- gunsmith and I put Remington Cor-Lok ammo through it is it the barrel or everything else if it does not perform????

A good or better gunsmith/machinist is worth their fee's and a great gunsmith is a bargain no matter what he charges!

I have a 28" 6mm Grendel/AR/ARC/LBC/Predator for my AR that shoots sub-1/2 MOA, but when I wanted the same chambering in a 20" for the NRA Tactical, they said that they no longer chambered that cartridge hanging gone to the ARC. I have found that the barrel provided by McGowan performs as well.
