X-Ring Pro-Am Co-axial Front Rest - Gauging Interest

Hello,

I’ve been developing a front rest for the past year for my own shooting needs and this is what I’ve come up with…The X-Ring Pro-Am. It’s super smooth, solid and stable. It has a huge range of motion and includes a front bag swivel.

I’m now researching the potential market for this item. I would like to gauge the level of interest for this new product to determine if viable for production.

Below are some specs, keep in mind this is my working prototype so final appearance, dimensions, and specs are subject to change, but having said that, hopefully not by much.

X-Ring Pro-Am
Co-Axial Front Rest
$1499
Estimated lead times: 12-16 weeks
Hand crafted in the USA

Specs (all approximate and subject to change):
Co-Axial Vertical Movement: 5 degrees or 300 MOA
Co-Axial Horizontal Movement: 15 degrees or 900 MOA
Bridge Vertical Adjustment: 7.5”
Bridge Front Rest Swivel: 30 degrees
Leveling Feet: 3”
Control Arm Length: 10.5”
Dimensions: 12”x12”x9”
Weight: 23 lbs
Front Rest Bag: Made for Protektor Model, not included.

At this point in time, I’m trying to gauge serious buyers’ interest (no commitment yet). Let me know if you’d be interested in getting on an initial production list.

Finally, if interest is sufficient and the X-Ring Pro-Am is put into production I would need a non-refundable deposit (with balance due upon shipping), so materials can be acquired to begin fabrication.

Looking forward to everyone’s feedback.

Looks like a nice setup. What does this press offer that others in the market don't? Anything? More quality made options are a good thing IMO so it's OK if it don't. However I will say getting folks to pony up money for a new product offering when the market has a great selection of proven rest might be difficult, especially the prepaying part.

Thanks for your feedback fellas, I appreciate it. Yes, by all accounts the Seb rests and Rodzilla rests are very fine products. The X-Ring Pro Am offers a cost competitive solution without a long lead time to delivery. It combines a variety of features seen in several other rests in a unique and novel way. And in the end, its performance in shooting has surpassed my expectations so I'm thrilled to have made it. Which is what lead me to see if anybody else would like one too.

And yes, I'm aware of the concerns with a deposit, but since they are being handcrafted here in the USA I figured (maybe incorrectly) that type of service and product offering wasn't too different from other labor intensive service offerings. These rests will be machined on manual machines, not CNC, and have many more parts than what's obvious at first glance. So I just didn't want to invest the time for someone who would simply change their mind later on. But your comment is good feedback, so maybe I'll have to reconsider the deposit requirement.

And since nobody knows me from the man on the moon, just know that I'm a small business owner in the B-to-B sector for 23 years. And while I don't want to put it out there on an open forum, if anyone interested wants to know more about me, just PM me and I'll give you links to my business site.
