X frame pistol grip

Hello

New to the site. I am looking for some help/experience in a grip for a S&W 460 X frame.

The gun came with a Hogue type/sized grip but seems to be a bit small for my hand. The factory grip works well with 45 longs and is OK with 454 Casulls but I do not have consistent stability/accuracy when I use the 460's. I fooled around and made the grip bigger with rubber and tape- which worked but is not a long term solution. I heard Pachmyer had one, Decelerator, that when I called they do not make anymore.
A German company makes one but it is wood an costs close to $300.00- nice looking though.

Specifically I am looking for a physically larger grip so I can feel more in control.

I have not had any luck locally and I am trying to avoid un necessary purchase.

I purchased the gun to be used as a side arm when I go hunting Montana and Alaska .

I appreciate the time and consideration if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it

Thanks
Kosta

Hogue or Herretts will make you a custom stock based upon an outline of your shooting hand. May be your best bet. You will be able to choose the wood you like in the bargain.

I was looking for a rubberized or composite type grip as I would be using it in the field- sweat, dirt etc.

Any thoughts on an existing polymer/composite product out there I could consider prior to considering a custom build.

Feed back would be appreciated

Thanks

Micarta(paper & resin) is my first choice for my Freedom Arms revolvers.
Laminated wood is not as durable.

Single action revolver recoil is drastically easier on the shooter than double action revolvers.

You have S&W X Frame grips & the grip frame to fabricate your own!

Howdy !

You might consider a set of good quality " custom " wood stocks, such as those from Herrett's.

I had a walnut set on ny S & W 4" .357Mag "N"-frame, and they lasted many years of hard use.... including a lot of outside & outdoor carry on the farm. They stocks outin the open air.

When time came to replace those ( " Jordan Trooper " style ), I $$$ a little extra to have Herretts go w/ Goncalo Alves; this time. THe new set of ' Trooper stocks are more-robust than the walnut ones were. They are also even more visually appealing, and I expect many years of good use out of them.

Going w/ custom Herrett's stocks was the single best thing I ever did, to aid my handgunning skills
( outside of lots of practice ).

With regards,
357Mag

Thanks all for the suggestions/feedback

PS I have come to understand that Hogue makes the largest grip ( palm swell) called the 500.

Thanks for the feedback
