X caliber AR barrels or anyone else?

Anyone using x caliber barrels for ARs? I want to build a 22arc. I kind of wanted a proof or Tbox but I want one with just a target crown. Proof doesn't offer that, and Tbox aren't in stock and it just says notify me when available.

Any thoughts on x caliber? Accuracy?

Any and all other suggestions are welcome.
Just need one with a target crown.

Thanks fellas

I like them, with a 20% off sale around several holidays.
The wife and I have shot 28" Bull profile 5R 7 twist and almost Midrange Master.
Maybe soon.
Dang, 20% off? That's a smokin deal. Maybe they'll have some around Easter. Good luck on the midrange master!

From my experience and reading posts about X Caliber vs other barrel suppliers [X Caliber does make their own barrels, not just finish someone else's], they appear to be about the same as Shilen or Douglas.
The ones I've had look pretty good inside and shoot good - i.e., easily find loads with 1/2 MOA groups.

Good info. I'm having trouble finding any suppliers that will do a 22arc for an AR. Any good suppliers anyway. Think it's between caliber and black hole weaponry right now

So far X-Caliber has built 5 AR barrels for me. (20 Practical, 204 Ruger, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6x45 and a 224 Valkyrie) All the barrels shoot sub moa.
The fit and finish is on par with any other manufacturer I've used.

I have on order a 22 Arc barrel for a Remington 700 at this time.

Gundog

I wore out the first 2 barrels and am shooting the second pair that I bought from X-Caliber
.223 and 6 BR .
Get one ordered during the 20% off sale and they seem a good deal.
Very accurate , clean easily and last thousands of rounds

Craddock Precision has rock creek blank "ready to rock" barrels in stock in 22 ARC. Not sure if what they have on the shelf fits your criteria. Perhaps theyre worth a look.

Not a lot of difference in price between them and say, a match Shilen, Douglas, or Wilson. All of which are good bbls. I've seen so called good bbls that would shock most people if they saw pushing a slug through them. In spite of how bad that might go, it still might shoot, but is that a chance you wanna take to save maybe 50 bucks?

You might give WOA a call to see if they'd finish a barrel in 22arc. They have Wilson, Shilen, Kreiger and Bartlein blanks.

@LiveFire awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. Do you know what blanks they use for those? Just curious.

@jelenko I'll email them and see what they say. I asked a year or so ago if they could do a 6.5 Grendel and they said no. I'll post here what they say for future reference for others.

Ah. If the 22 arc uses the same bolt face, WOA may be concerned about the thinness of the locking lugs.

Rock creek...duh. I gotta read better. That seems like an absolute awesome deal
Im currently shopping for a 223 wylde barrel that is in stock. I just happened to see craddock had some. I messaged them telling them my only "precision" type barrels Ive owned are Shilen. I received a response that the Rock Creek blanks are of the same quality. I do not know if thats true so I havent pulled the trigger yet. But I have narrowed it to WOA, Ranier ultramatch or craddock. My budget is about $400 and it has to be in stock so that limits things. Ranier arms also has a 22 arc ultramatch in stock. Scuttlebut on the forums is these newer ultramatch barrels are criterion blanks. Once again I dont know if what they have fits your needs so it may be a waste of time. Good luck.

I'm sure Rainer arms has there reasons, but that always bugged me. Why not just say who makes the blank? I had a WOA .223/5.56 barrel and it was the most accurate AR I've ever shot. With the right load it was sub moa consistently. I shot a lot of groups in the .2s and .3s and I was using Hornady 55grain spire point, with H335. Can't believe I sold that upper.

I'm very interested in the Craddock now though

I had an X-Caliber 20 TAC barrel. 20" heavy bull, with 11" twist, and 3R grooves. It would shoot sub 1/2 MOA 5 shot groups at 100 yards with a few different powders.
