Is camping allowed at the Rawlings range?
CW
Thanks, I sent an email to Dave yesterday.Good question. I don't have the answer. You need to talk to the match director, Dave Urasky (dave.urasky@gmail.com 307-321-5049) or
Patti Hays (phays@rawlins-wyoming.com)
Recreation Superintendent
City of Rawlins
Dept. of Recreation Services
307-324-7529
I asked patti about a week ago. She said that she thought they decided to allow dry camping. I took that as if you can find a spot that is not in the way, it's good to go.Thanks, I sent an email to Dave yesterday.
Have a great day

The camping topic is offically confusing. Here is the email I got fro patri who is the rawlins rec su per as noted above in a post. I don't know who "we" are:
Thanks for the email. The camping is dry camping. I think that is what we agreed on. Patti
If anyone gets a solid yes or no this week; please share what you learn. I don't want the hassle of pulling a trailer to be told to stay at an oilfield koa. Done that before, I donated parts to someone that needed them more than me I guess.
It sure is, below is the last I heard from Dave...like you, I do not look forward to camping at the KOA...
From Dave Urasky on July 3 @ 8:29 pm:
At the present time I have to say no. Since it is a city owned range it's complicated. At least so I'm told. I am still working on it but it's out of my control. It's in the hands of city management, if that tells you anything.
I understand about wanting to stay at the range. That's how I do it when I travel. I will keep this email and let you know if something changes.
Rawlins has a 200, 300, 600 and 1,000 yard berms. State service rifle and cmp matches Aug 19-20th. Not sure of any MR matches this year.Do they do any 600 yard shooting at this range?
Here is the match bulletin for 1,000 yard, Long Range Wyoming State Championship in Rawlins this July.
We need more F-tr shooters to participate this year.
Will have the new Silver Mountain electronic target system.
Call Dave Urasky and talk with him 307-321-5049. Don't wait too long.Do you still have room for another F/TR shooter at this late date? It' s kinda late to mail in my entry, but I see you have registration scheduled for Friday afternoon.

Too bad you feel that way.I emailed him a couple of days ago asking this same question, but no response...guess I will try calling also... I try not to do that just in case they have to work...thanks for nothing...you ask for more shooters but only one guy seems to have the status information on how many can shoot this match...you have no information on accommodations, even your local hotels have no clue that this event is happening and we can't get a straight answer from Patti or Dave as to whether or not we can camp onsite...I guess this is just a good old boy club that happened to land the state championships so they can shoot on their new fancy electronic targets...have fun guys, guess you want me to shoot elsewhere...I can do that...
Too bad you feel that way.
It is not a good ol boys club.
I enjoy shooting F-class Long Range and have participated in the last three Wyoming State Championships. Dave is a friend of mine who is working very hard to put on his very first match. He has built the 1,000 yard range at Rawlins from nothing, with the help of the Wyoming Shooting Association and the NRA . I am helping him promote this event by getting copies of the match bulletin out there for shooters to see. All the information is on the match bulletin, just like any other match. I don't live in Rawlins and don't have all the answers about this new venue. It takes much effort to put on a match where none existed before. Come to Rawlins and have a good time with good shooters.
