Wyatts CFE13 Mag Box Question

Anyone used the Wyatts CFE13 mag box for a 300RUM? I cant seem to load the cases in from the top due to the lips beinng to close together.Do the feed lips need to spread apart in order to install the cases?

I just fit one for a 7 SAUM a couple of hours ago. Yes you will need to bend the feed lips out a little at a time until you get the desired fit. You will want just a slight bit of resistance when pushing the round down. It's tedious but once you get them where you want them they work pretty darn good! Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.Do you know what the purpose is for modifying the bolt stop?

On the CFE13 you shouldn't have to as it's a standard length box. If you had a CFE12 you would want to modify the bolt stop to allow the bolt to travel Back further to pick up the case because it's an extended length box. You would have to modify the receiver as well to get the CFE12 to fit. I would think for the 300 RUM you would want the CFE12 box. Hope that helps.

I recommend anyone using Kevin Wyatt's aftermarket boxes to take the time and read his web site and/or his book "Smoking Mirrors" before trying to install and use his aftermarket mag boxes. Time and money well spent.
