WTF to do with bullet boxes......

A few years ago I was prompted to start saving my plastic bullet boxes to recycle since we all (well, most--ok--some of us) were sure that we'd be able to recycle all plastic here, eventually. Eventually has come and gone and now the cabinet in which I stored my old bullet boxes is pretty well full and I hate to just go dump 1200 to 2000 plastic boxes in the landfill.............anyone have any thoughts?----constructive thoughts, please..........just to repeat--there is no place that will take them around here as recycling material--plastic bags, yes, boxes no and I forgot to mention I already have a few dozen filled up with miscellaneous small parts, tools, etc. some interesting thoughts, though-- I'll have to try the school folks--all my boxes are labeless now....

I did not have near that many but I took a bunch of the yellow Berger boxes and gave them to the local elementary school. It was easy to get the yellow stickers off the Berger boxes and when they were off there was no way to tell that they were bullet boxes and I did not tell the school what had been in the boxes when they were new. They were glad to get them.

I have a couple in the Tackle box (bare hooks, swivels, sinkers, batteries) etc, in the garage (nuts, bolts, springs)etc. the boxes work good for keeping all the little misc. stuff boxed up and labeled.

I have used my Berger boxes for storing weighed bullets to shoot as a lot. Also have used them for stored bulk bullets of different manufacturers, better than the plastic bags they come in.

I use mine for a variety of purposes, including maintaining reloading equipment bits and pieces (OAL gauge components, neck sizing mandrels, etc.) and some cleaning supplies (brushes, jags, etc.). They're easy to mark using an indelible marking pen so I know what's inside of them.
I like the idea of donating them to a school. Perhaps a senior center where for hobby supplies?

I keep my boxes to keep track or rounds down the pipe. When I change barrels , I either re use or toss them in the recycle bin . F em if the sanitation company cant figure out what bin to put them in

If you can't figure out what to use them for then dump them in the "Recycle Bin" where they collect plastic.

I find them great to keep track of all the small parts and tools one accumulates in this hobby. Marking the box and stacking it on a shelf beats the dickens out of just dumping the pieces in a drawer or empty shoe box.

You'll be out a few bucks in shipping, but maybe you could box them up and send 'em back to Berger? I wonder if they could just relabel them and reuse 'em…

I don't have this problem any more. I rarely buy 100 bullets at a time. The 500 round containers are usually cardboard. Just one more reason to buy in bulk!

Now if only more manufacturers offered this option.

I gave also allot away, but some i have good use for.
For instance, box for my timer.
And 22lr ammo transport, Berger box fits 100 22's in.

As was stated above, I buy many bullets in bulk packs. I sort my bullets and use the smaller boxes to keep them seperated.

But....1500 to 2000 !!!! WOW...just WOW!!! :D

One pound of Tannerite will fill up 5 of those small Berger boxes; then you can go out and blow them the F up.
Wrap them up good with duct tape first.

Thanx for all the .......... interesting replies. My local Elementary School was not interested, but a pre-school was, so I got rid of several dozen of the small boxes, which as someone pointed out, I think, the custom bullet makers like to use and I have lots of. Pistol and revolver bullets I buy in bulk and re-use my old Berry boxes..........anyway as soon as I learn how to use the PM setup on this website I will hopefully send some more out and that will get me down to 5 or 6 hundred, not counting what I have waiting to be emptied............BTW. our local recycler went out of business and the county landfill/recycling place is not interested. Anyway, it will all be fixed after the revolution................ :o

PS. I sent e-mails to all the bullet makers I buy from and not one answered my query except Berger.... and their boxes are not even green!!!! They were supportive, but not taking any boxes back.

I am amazed at how many people want these things. I hope all my replies went through, I never use these personal message things on websites and I use photobucket less than once a year, to top it off I got dumped off the www in the middle of replying to you all so if you did not get a reply try again. I will be happy to fill up a self addressed usps flat rate box and send to anyone that wants these things--BTW, I had some help boxing up a few dozen for the pre-school and I was wrong about how many I had--I had 3,062 empties--that's what happens when you get addicted to this stuff, I guess.
