I'm looking for a good scale in the 100.00 - 250.00 price range any help would be appreciated thanks for looking Bill

Been using one of the early Hornady scales since they came out. Literally tens of thousands of loads weighed out. It took a little time to learn the nuances and now I wonder if it will soon wear out. Owes me nothing if it does. +- .1gr., that's all but that's been good enough for me.

I've been thru several digital scales and they all work pretty well. I'm currently using the New Lyman scale and like it because the numbers are large and it locks on a weight quickly. works well with powder trickler.

Bill,
I've been using an RCBS Rangemaster 750 for about 7 years now. And several folks up here and some friends of mine, bought the Gempro 250 which I recently sold (after trying it out) simply because it was not (IMHO) as user friendly as my RCBS has been. The advantage of the Gempro is that it provides a two digit (to the right of the dot) read-out whereas the RCBS has only a one digit reading (i.e. 24.2 gr RCBS vs. 24.20 gr Gempro). I take my scales down at night and I found it takes me longer to go through the start up/calibration process with the Gempro as compared to the RCBS, which is much simpler to set up. No question they are both sensitive scales, but the Gempro is prone to "wandering" whereas my RCBS rarely wanders caused by a variety of interference, most of which can be control by taking the appropriate sets to counter. It also depends on how much you load in a sitting and if you are loading for competition or for fun shooting, mostly of what I do. The only thing I've had to replace on my RCBS is the power cord and RCBS replaced it for free after five years of use.
