WSSM fans

Since WSSM brass is as rare as hen's teeth (or extremely pricey) do any of you have any opinions about case forming a 270 WSM down to 243 WSSM? I realize the shoulder would probably end up being thicker and the neck also. I suppose that would involve neck turning and/or reaming. Might have to anneal multiple times during the process.

What say you??

I figured forming dies would be necessary. I wonder how many steps, who would make them and what the cost might be?

It would be enough steps for me to not bother even trying...

WSSMs are cool as heck, especially in an AR-15. But none of the WSSMs are offering anything that a more conventional (and available) cartridge can't already do. Considering that, its not that hard to 'walk away' from a WSSM rifle, for lack of components. Unless its a badazz AR-15 WSSM upper!

BTW, there's a fella selling .223WSSM brass in the classifieds here. It'd be a heckuvalot easier to buy 'em & run 'em thru an expander mandrel, than it would be to attempt the WSM--->WSSM fiasco.
Keep your eyes open, and you'll prolly find enough WSSM stuff to keep ya going for a while. I recently gave my last batch of WSSM brass to a fellow shooter on the 'net, for free. Just sayin', if a schmuck like me had some to give away to a relative stranger, there may yet be hope for you, too!!! MAybe put a WTB ad up on a few sites, and see what ya turn up. I'd sooner try that, then go bonkers trying to neck WSM brass down...

Like I said it would be a chore. A lot of movement with really thick brass. I would keep looking around on sites, Here, Ebay, and gunbroker to mention a few. Like Fredo says put a want add on the Forum here. Somebody has got to have a few. Maybe WIN will run brass sometime. Even if you can find once fired. Does Norma make it? Matt
