Would You Shoot a 1 Day 90 Shot Match?

I'm canvasing F-Class shooters who would come to SoCal to shoot an FCPS match. It would be a 1 day 90 shot match on either July 31st or September 26th. And what format would you prefer, 3x30 or a 4x22? It would be string fire not TTTM on "ShotMarker" e-Targets (new 1x2 alum frames). We have room for 25 shooters. It's in Castaic, CA, about 10 min. from nearby motels and restaurants.

If I lived near you I would be there in a heartbeat. For what it’s worth up here in the Northwest we’ve shot numerous one day Iron Man type events this year and everybody seems to enjoy them so far. We’ve done Double Palma (6 relays) some days or Palma+2x(20x1000) on others and overall there are a lot of people who would rather shoot it all in one day and be able to relax on Sunday over splitting it up. It also saves a lot of travelers an extra day of accommodations and in some cases people can drive in and drive out the same day without having to pay for any accommodations.

Bayou Rifles, Houston, will be hosting several one day qualifying matches this year. They will shoot a standard 3x20 match then, for those wanting FPS points, additional 2x15 pair firing matches. I say do it and they will come.

Since you asked honestly , I'll respond in kind . No . No . Hell No ! Took that page out of my map-book twenty years ago . Why would anyone risk entering Commie-fornia and have their precious , and expensive rifles confiscated by the anti-gun Demon-crat controlled Polit-bureau in Sacramento . You asked ....

Matches used to be 15 shot strings. When 20 shot strings started happening, a lot of shooters complained about the extra barrel heat. Saying it would wear barrels out sooner. There are many clubs that still only run 15 shot strings. I don’t know how receptive people would be to trying 30 shot strings. If using e targets though, you shouldn’t have any issues shooting 5 strings. You could do 5 x 20 or 3 x 20 and 2 x 15. There are clubs that do 4 x 20 on pull and mark targets with 4 relays, they have plenty of time for that.

Sorry. Not going to go to California to shoot. Sounds like a fun time but California took my last dollar years ago.

I detest stalag California's politics myself but the nazi's haven't stopped me on the road, at the border or at the airport while transporting firearms ever. I just drive the speed limit and make sure my brake lights work.
