would this be an "accuracy node"?

hi everyone...

i went out yesterday to try out some handloads on my 22-250 and i am curious what you all might think about the results.

the loads were all with 2 times fired hornady brass and the powder was reloader 15. the charge weights started at at 33.4 grains and went up in .4 grain increments to and at 36.6 grains. the bullets were weight sorted SBK's.

group 1 33.4 grains, .8330" ctc
group 2 33.8 grains, .7575" ctc
group 3 34.2 grains, .5680" ctc
group 4 34.6 grains, 1.1740" ctc
group 5 35.0 grains, .9730" ctc
group 6 35.4 grains, .3405" ctc ---------node start?
group 7 35.8 grains, .4220" ctc----------node end??
group 8 36.2 grains, .8495" ctc

what do you think??? is this likely an accuracy node? should i repeat the test or just try loads with charges ranging from say 34.2 to maybe 34.8 (in the node area)??? opinions are very welcome. thank you.

Yes your two mentioned groups look good but try this. It's hard to tell how many shots you fired at groups 2 & 3, but if the fliers away from these two centers are single shots and you eliminate them, this is what they would look like. If this were me and I was sure other factors were not contributing to groups opening up, I would shoot another full round of the exact same powder loads and see if I get similar results.

Group 2, .044" ctc
Group 3, .281" ctc

I would start at 35.2 and work up .01 at a time. I think you're going past the sweet spot with a .04 powder jump. And only change the powder charge. Nothing else. ;)

I would say your in a node. Notice your point of impact did'nt change appreciably?
Either your dancing in/around a node or the shooting Gods were with you.
.4 gns is definately a large window but if your shooting groups I understand.
I shoot Audette ladders in .3gn increments to find the nodes.
Then I begin to dance in .1gn increments to find the real sweet spot. Good Luck.
