Wood working ideas for shooting

You know what is really hard to find.....a well thought out pistol rest for stacking collections in a safe. I made some trays for my Contender barrels that hold about a dozen barrels each. Makes it easy to pick out a given barrel. I have made a couple of proto-type gizmo's for my revolvers and Contender frames, but they are really not well supported....yet. I can spend upwards of $100 for metal or fancy wood racks that hold 4 guns. Doesn't seem reasonable when I have to figure out how to store 10x that many. Anyone have a good wooden revolver rack for safe storage. (safe as in combination on the door safe.)

20170330_153717.jpg this is the box I built to keep my stuff safe and close at hand in the truck when I'm out cruising for groundhogs. the empty spot is normally where my range finder goes It's just in my range bag at the moment just a bunch of scrap wood I had laying around and some foam out of packing crates also made The Tongue and groove wall behind it out of pallet boards

For those that need some luck to go along with their skills...boxes can be used for a variety of man-things...

Thanks. I've honestly never made anything prior to this winter. I've went to a few auctions and have enough to get up and play with it without breaking the bank. The POS mill vise I bought for the press is less than I hope for. I'm very impressed with the amount of planning and thought behind every piece I try to make, I just took much for granted. That darn flag took me around 12hrs to make and I was confused every step. The frame and stars took me longer to figure out than I thought the whole thing would lol.

I found this at a yard sale for $1.00 and couldn't leave it..... someone made it obviously but it actually raises in the center!!
I was gonna give it to Immike to help him take his shooting to the next level but even a quality front rest like this won't help him!!!! Lmao

Keith, I think what you found there is an original "YOD" rest.
It was made by the greatest Pennsylvania Amish rest-builder,,,
YODER LAMBANG!
