wolf primers

Has anyone had the chance to shoot some wolf small rifle mag primers out of a 6x47lapua? I use cci450 but we all know that there are none to be had. Do they shoot better than the cci?

I havn't tried them in my 6x47L because it isn't quite ready yet, but you can bet I will use them as soon as it's ready... To many low numbers on my crono, and accuracy on targets with both the large and small russians in other calibers to not use them..
Try em, you'll like em.....

Preacher:

Do the Wolf LR Magnum primers have a harder cup than the Russian non-magnum or a hotter flame or both?

Thanks,
Jim

The LRM's are hotter than the standard LR's....
The cups seem to be pretty hard with the mags from what I can tell using them in my 7MM-SAUMA.....
Never ran it with a standard primer, so can't help there....
It does preform better than the 210M's do.....

Ollie,
I think you should try some Rem. 7 1/2 primers in your 6x47. You have been killing us in the light custom class this year! The rem. primers might bring your scores back down to earth.
I am just kidding of course. I hope you kick our butts for the next ten years.

Anybody have a comparison for the WOLF LRM vs. FED 215M?
I am thinking of trying the WOLF for my WMD,338/408Chey-Tac). I am currently using 143.22gr of US869 touched off by a 215M to propel the 265gr Aluminum tipped bullet at 3496fps.

And, as luck would have it; I just found out I drew a BULL ELK tag for the Missouri Breaks out here in Montana. I am a blessed man. That along with my successful eye surgery last week,,, WOW! I can already see an improvement in my vision even in the mending stages. Thank you LORD!!!

Preacher the wolf magnums have the same primer compound as the regular per wolf website http://www.wolfammo.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=120 the difference is the cup thickness. and yes i agree they are more consistant than anything i have tried and that includes cci, fed., and rem. in my rifles other peoples mileage may vary.

I dont think the Wolf LRM are any hotter than the LR cause I sure didnt see it on the chrono when I tested them for my palma loads. I did get a tiny bit better SD on the LRM but I would attribute that to the harder cup as that should be the only variable during my tests. I use the LRM now and in the small, i use the SRM only as I dont like those copper based SR primers.
