Windflags

Does anybody have a email address for ezells flags? I sent a couple already but have had no response from him.
Admittedly, I haven't been able to to a good job getting back with people of late. I've had an estate settlement going on for a while and it's had me behind with everything. My apologies..
I am making a batch of flags right now.

Phone is still the best way to get me. My cell is 270-792-1436.

Thank you--Mike Ezell

Mike Ezell's flags are great. If you live in a place like Colorado where the ground can be like concrete, I recommend the heavy tripod bases that he sells. If you live in an area with soft, grassy ground, the spikes work well. I have some of both. Sail tails are another matter since Mike does not sell the sail tails. Flyingfishfundamentals.com sold me some, but I cannot reach them now and calls are not returned. You can get a set of six sail tails from Graham for $30.00 shipped. Or you can use flag tape from Home Depot for, like 2 cents each, but I really prefer the sail tails.

I understand that all to well Mike. They are alot of work even if you have help. I just finished one almost 2 years ago and now I'am just starting on a new one,not sure if I'll even get to shoot this summer but I'am going to try and make it happen. I got your email and will try to make a call in the next week or two. Thanks...Ron

theres a bunch of us that use Mikes flags carry a cordless drill with a 1/2 inch bit and drill a hole in the ground to set the flags up,,at one range in Tn that used a bunch of fill dirt thats mostly clay the ground is pretty dang hard but the spikes work fine if you carry a drill

Some time ago, our club had some airport style wind
socks. I donated two 31 inch long socks to the Anderson
Creek Club. They do get their use. I just recently sent down
three more, but of the 14 inch length.

I made a bunch of sail tails they are 28" x 2.75. i copied what i had bought from Killioughs.Wind flags sail tails.jpg

I make these tails from a ribbon. Got the tip from @jimmymac
cant remember the ribbon brand but can find a link if needed. Not as twitchy as Surveyer tape and gives me a better read on the condition

What is a good length for the tails?

I was instructed to make all my tails the same length if possible based on the lowest flag height. I usually go for as long as possible that does not touch the grass. On ranges where the first flag is really low, I'll make the length of that tail a one off and the remainder of the flags as close to each other as possible.
