Wind Flag Placement ?

During the season I was using 5 & a probe & have been using only 3 of Mike's flags during this years winter league at 100 with good results. When I set 5 out I place 3 in a direct line & stagger 2. The 3 & the probe are what I'm focused on.

Thanks Bart, Love ya buddy.
:eek::eek::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I'm bad with screen names so I apologize. I probably know you or know of you by your real name. I'm Mike Ezell. Please introduce yourself to me so I might know who you are next time. I always enjoy getting to know fellow shooters and I'm sorry I didn't recognize you by you handle on here. I often don't know if I'm talking to a new guy or a seasoned veteran shooter on these forums. --M

I just sold a nice March scope with a raised reticle. I loved the reticle. It's where the intersection of the crosshairs is high in the scope, making the field of view much greater below the crosshairs. It really helps with getting the flags in the scope. I don't think anyone is offering that reticle choice now. Maybe Bart can get Valdada to do it...or maybe they already do. I think it's perfect for short range br, though.
It was a straight 60x and was just a tad too much on some days. Most days, the scope was great. Mirage got a little crazy at times or I'd kept it.
For me, too much drama with March Scopes.
I will check back next year and wait for more reviews. Buying a great March scope would be a good excuse for me to build another gun.

I guess I've been too busy to keep up, but what drama? AFAIK, March is top of the line and this one was rock solid. Again, my only complaint was 60x magnification in a fixed power scope...on SOME days. The glass was very good but I wouldn't call it great.

I want to apologize for not responding last night but the chemo treatments are knocking the poop out of me ( falling asleep on and off all day and not at all during the night.
I guess it comes down to trial & error and personal preference. I think I will go with 3 at 100 to start at 10-50-90 and then 10-50-90-130 & 170 for 200. If I need more I will use more, but usually there are so many out that may not be necessary.

As far as a March scope goes not at this stage of my life, I save my money for other things.

Bart,Liljoe and Tim Singleton are all three hard to beat and have put ALOT of time into this game. Mike Ezell has also put a lot of time into this game and I have talked with him on the phone many times. I have never had the opportunity to shoot with Ezell.Thanks for the info !!!
Bart walked me through my first short range BR shoot and we shared his gun,bullets,powder and rest . Mickey Coleman's place 2008 I think it was. I'm 3 at 100: add 2 more 200.

Bart has told you how to shoot based on his experience and I read that with close attention, because he will always shoot better than most of us, certainly me. Now let me tell you how not to shoot, based on much experience....doing it wrong. Don't fail to study conditions when you are not shooting, so that you can learn patterns and how they are evolving. Don't be beguiled into getting excited about a very light condition and forget that it is so uncommon that day as to require you to use your sighter and hold off to finish your group. Don't get so worked up while running that you lie to yourself about how much a "small" change will affect your bullet. Running requires good "brakes". Don't be hesitant to use your sighter after you start your record group. If you wait too long for a condition to come back you will be rushed going to the sighter and back to the record at the end of your time.
