Winchester push feed questions for the stock experts

The bottom plate on my two piece on a classic measures 5.58” including the hinge and 4.5” for just the plate. First measurement includes all of the bottom plate assembly hinge and screw tab overall length. As far as I understand it there was only one action length prior to 64 and two after. Short and long. Differences between the standard long action.473 base and magnum lengths is all done with bolt stops and magazine filler blocks. I just looked again for the spare LA 2 piece bottom metal I thought I had but I must have given it away already.

Yes

On the Winchester Model 70's, on there std or long action you really only have 2 chooses, post or pre 64, trigger hole spacing is the same, but the width is different, only the hinge plate are different lengths
I believe its only 1/8" difference between the 2

The X-Man
So if yours is 5 5/8” with tab and all thats the shorter one that i have it looks like. If the plate is longer than mine id love to have it. I cant see your total measurement

A pre-64 setup trigger guard will bolt up to a post-64 because it not as wide, but post-64 will not bolt to a pre-64 because it’s to wide, the hinge plate are different lengths, you have a complete pre-64 setup that’s why were having the problem, dump it, or sell it, they get crazy money for them, I have the hinge plate, you shouldn’t have a problem finding the right post-64 trigger guard
He already has a post 64 trigger guard mismatched to a pre floor plate. The difference in the tg's is only width. All he needs is your post 64 floor plate to make it work.

Thought I would follow on this old Thread for others Searching.
I have a Winchester Push Feed SHORT ACTION that I lost the bottom Metal and Box Magazine, and Follower for. Took the rifle apart alot years ago to start a Project and some Gremlin came in and took all my parts... ( there is $1000.00 Bounty on said Gremlin). Do you guys have a good source for all these Magazine parts?

Thanks guys.

I didn't go through the whole thread so, if someone else has already caught this, I apologize. It looks like you have a pre-64 floorplate mixed in with a post-64 trigger guard. You need a post-64 floorplate. It doesn't matter if it's for a push feed or a classic crf. Pre-1968 the floorplate is going to be aluminum. 68 or later will be a fairly heavy steel plate (cast). The difference in screw spacing between the pre and post-64 is about 1/4 inch. WH
