I am not complaining about Wilson barrels. I am saying that I don't like ending up like one of the pioneers, face down with arrows in my back.
Buying a barrel that has been honed and lapped, inspected is money well spent in my experience. The attitude of the barrel maker is worth gold when they try to make sure you have a quality product of theirs.
I think its obvious that you have zero experience with Wilson barrels. Maybe try one on a rifle before you keep talking like they are trash. I've fully inspected my two Wilson barrels with a borescope. Very easy to see they have been lapped properly. And if they keep shooting like I've found so far, then no doubt they will stay on my list of barrels to buy.
I've used just about all of them. Lilja, Krieger, Brux, McGowen, Broughton, X-Caliber, Pac-nor, Shilen, etc...Even the best make duds every now and again. Any which way you turn the table, you still lost the money for chambering costs. No barrel manufacturer is gonna refund you that bit. Wilson barrels run about $160. With the accuracy ive seen so far, they are the best deal on the market in my opinion.
