Wilson barrel blanks?

Thinking of using a Wilson blank to rebarrel a old 243 I have. Just wondering if anyone has any pros and cons on them. Thanks.

I purchased a 6 Dasher prefit from urbanrifleman, I shot a 3.00 inch agg and a 188 score with it in our last club match in tactical and I am not a good shooter off a bipod!! Needless to say I am pleased.

Red target is 300 yards
Nice! IMO, they are a very decent bbl and you can get a really good one or a really bad one, just like with the premium bbl makers, but I think both are pretty rare. IME, their average bbl is a considerable step better than factory and they are an excellent bbl for about any hunting rifle but I won't be using them on my BR rifles. Same goes for some other less expensive bbls out there. You can get a really good one from time to time. I have no problem using a Wilson on a hunting or varmint rifle...none.

I agree last year I actually used a Wilson barrel from urban to get started in 600 yard benchrest. I didn't set the world on fire but was learning. The horrible bolt lift from my savage 10 action was not very forgiving. But was still able to shot some pretty decent groups with that set up. This coming year I'll be going to a custom action and shouldered barrel. But I believe that Wilson barrels are a very fine barrel that in my experience shoots way above it's price point. Photo is a 600 yard match target with a Wilson barrel. So as far as a hunting barrel 100 percent yes from me and can even be competitive in some shooting formats.

You've got a shooter there. A good bbl, is a good bbl. I don't care who made it or if it's cut or buttoned. I just care that it shoots.

Get a Kauger benchrest action and I'll barrel it up. :)

You didn't say what your intended use was for it, but as you can see they shoot well. I have one that is chambered in 7TCU that I got as a Remage from Ragged Hole. It is my #1 short range deer rifle now. With 120 Nosler BTs it will shoot into a 2" group at 300 yards. I realize that isn't nearly as good as the folks who have posted here, but that is from an 18" #4 contour with a suppressor from a sandbag rest using a 3-9X scope with no parallax adjustment.
