Will CZ 527 223 magazines feed 222 Remington shells?

I have a CZ 527 that I would like to convert to 222 Remington but would like the flush fitting 3 round magazines instead of the 5 round 222 mags. Will the 223 magazine feed 222Remingtons? Any info is appreciated. Merry Christmas.

Probably. May need to add a filler and shorten the lifter. Next range session put a dummy 222 into the mag and try.

A filler behind the case head would be helpful. I tried and could not get them to feed well in my action. Nose kept diving down.

Yes they work just fine! I built a 222 Rem on a CZ 527 action, and I'm just using the 223 mags and bottom metal, haven't had the slightest hiccup. I like to spread the feed lips at the front ever so slightly and polish the lips up. It really feeds nicely. The rounds are tilted up a little as they sit loaded in the mag.

Thanks NFlynn. I have a 527 carbine in 22PPC but an just dying to build a light 222 Remington calling rifle on it. I need a new bolt which will be like finding hen's teeth but I am patient and will keep on looking till I find one. Great news. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
