Will a 6 br feed from a magazine?

No-one has mentioned the Primal Rights kit which is a modified follower, and a spacer for the rear of the mag. Made for a 10 round AICS magazine, it can be cut down for 5 round mags as well. It works very well in my Tube RTS

This is what I use, and they make a dedicated 5 round kit now. Flawless so far.

Here's a question for you guys, then. Would a controlled round feed action like a Winchester Model 70 be easier to get to feed a BR case? It seems like there would be fewer hang ups when it comes to ejection, but you would still have the magazine issue to get around.

I have been shooting a 6BR in a Mausingfield with Alpha, AI, and ARC mags for about three years with no problems whatsoever. Mostly 87gr VMAX or 105 Bergers. Feeds and extracts without issue. Controlled round feed definitely helps with the issues that the push feed actions can have.

The problem i have with brs is that when the shoulder would contact the action out of the chamber it would be a big enough angle to let the case fall off the extractor. The dasher doesn't seem to have that problem. I guess the best would be a BRX.

Considering building a BRX soon. My smith did so and says it has same issue. Have .22br and 6br, both of which I have had to put a solid follower on top of my Remington internal mag and single feed. He takes out the extractor to eliminate cartridge from jumping.

AJ's 6BR Magazine kits are now Patriot Valley Arms kits (PVA). They work in any AICS 10 round magazine. I run them with 6BR and Dasher in Bighorn actions.

Hanbleceya, If you need one please let me know, I have a few extras. I would even trade for the standard AICS spring and follower or a whole AICS mag.

Thanks Delfuego. Will keep that in mind. Have one but yet to build one that uses a.i.
I single feed bench shoot for accuracy right now but am really wanting a repeater. I will see how that goes.

I was, and still am, tinkering with trying to feed with internal and external mags on 6br and 22br. Out of curiosity, I put several rounds in Howa 1500 25-06 and they fed fine. Long action-doable in pinch but...well...long action? Hoping someone with experience with this will chime in about using a short action Howa converted to 6br...?

Should anyone be wealthy enough to purchase an HS Precision stock, for a Remmy, they recently started offering a BR magazine for 6Rem, 6br, and 7br. Price will scare you.

Doooo it!:)

Let me know if you need photos for motivation...

That's funny Delfuego. I have never been long on depriving myself of something I need. Unfortunately finances no longer allow. Photos would be good though. Then, too, maybe I can sell a kidney. Might just advertise on the Wanting to Sell.

I’ve been down this road. My first 6BR was built by reputable gunsmith but it wouldnt feed at all. Frustrating, didn’t matter what I did and he wasn’t interested in helping. It was a 700. So I sold it after getting tired of dealing with it. Then I read an article here on the forum about a guy in Europe who took a Sako 75 and did a 6BR, it feed perfectly. I copied his idea and made three rifles out of the Sako 75, a 6BR, 6 Dasher and a 22BR. They all work great and shoot .5 moa or better.

I’m getting ready to build a 6BRA calling gun. This time I’m going to use someone who has experience with the short cartridges. I have a Borden SA, I’m going to send to Alex Wheeler and use a single stack mag. I like the Sakos, they do the job and they feed well, just wanting something a little more refined. I will also post a link on a thread of a recent build, if you look through the link he has a video of his bolt feeding a 22BR. I think enough of us have been wanting something that works and now there’s a few options. I would reach to someone who builds and deals with the 6BR line of cartridges and get it done right the first time. I sure wish I would have, it would have saved me a bunch of time, money and frustration.

Here’s the link, it’s just one option if many,
