Wide Base FTR adjustable bipod

I'm looking for an FTR bipod to attach to my McMillian stock it has two swivel studs on the forearm. Looking at the photos of the various nice wide base adjustable bipods they require an accessory rail to mount to the rifle. Are there any that will adapt with those screw holes for the swivel studs removed or adapt to the swivel studs like a typical harris type bipod would attach?

T slot rail offered will mount between the 2 swivel studs making a very secure and solid mounting point.

Might be what you are looking for.

Send a PM to GNERGY on this site. He makes a great wide bipod. And he has a T nut that replaces one of the two sling studs.

I watched some really good FTR shooters last weekend and they were shooting off Phoenix Bipods..... If I were to chose one that would be it....they looked to be well built.

Duplin has an adapter to be able to use with sling studs if I am not mistaken. Give them a call. I really like my Duplin. Switched over from the Sinclair Fine Adjust model and the Duplin in my opinion is much better

They are very well built, if you like ski type bipods they are hard to beat but they are heavy and expensive.

I make a stepdown stud that you remove one of you sling swivel studs ( as long as they a machine screw thread 10-24tpi. or 10-32tpi ) and attach my bipod to your rifle. My bipods don't flex like the sinclairs and are lighter and cost less and they are just as strong as the others mentioned, that cost almost twice what mine does. Here are a couple pics of my bipods on customers rifles in different states.

Shoot me a PM with any questions you may have and I can send you more pics.
Thanks

That is a nice looking rig!

Thanks, Quinc. Savage stock and action, Criterion barrel, and Sightron SIII scope.

I would like to add that I bought GNERGY's bipod about 10 months ago. And since buying it ALL my shooting has been done using his bipod. I put two small strips of luan under the feet so it slides easily. I liked that so well I modified my stock so it would slide straight back during recoil. Now I can see all my hits (and a few misses ;) ) on groundhogs and steel at ANY range.

Nik Taylor won the F-T/R Worlds shooting off one of Jerry's bipods. Very nice unit, particularly if you are having problems making weight with your rifle. Jerry's is one of the lightest I've seen.

i know StarShooter is not popular yet south of the border but up North, we mostly use this bipod at connaught range.

as for myself, i've tried: Harris, sinclair, duplin, centershot and...StarShooter. none of them is even close of being as stiff as SS bipod. The light weight version come down to 23.2oz.

Salut Jonathan, je commançais à me demander quand tu allais finalement écrire ta première contribution içi.

With that out of the way, you are correct in the Star Shooter not being popular in the US up to now. I looked at it before selecting my current Sinclair Gen 3. It was just easier and cheaper to get the Sinclair, and I didn't want to be bothered with a cross-border transaction.

However, when I saw your unit at Raton that day we shot together, I must say that I was impressed by the design and perhaps had been too hasty to dismiss it during my selection process. Then again, I've been very pleased with the Sinclair.

I have had the Star Shooter bipod for a few months now, and it is by far better than the Sinclair gen3, which I sold as soon as I tried out the new SS bipod, which I use it on my F/TR rifle. Very sturdy and tracks great, it has helped my scores go up, and I shoot from 300 to 1000 f-class matches with it. Its not the cheapest bipod but worth the money. I almost went with one of there stocks also, but went with Masterclass stocks.

I had one Stock made out of African padouk for my FTR setup and just cant say enough good things about it. Stock been reinforced with carbon fiber in the barrel inlet and all the way under the action to bring strength in the weak spot in front of recoil lug. Had a flat piece made out of brass at the rear to ride the bag as smooth as a open gun.

Denis, c'est un plaisir de maintenant me joinder et participer a ce forum ))
