Wicked Cold Weather This Week

Today, we almost hit 80! You northerners should think about moving down! Maybe some of you Floridians (ebb & Ggmac) should move over. We need more gun toters around these parts!
Woulda been a great day at the range, but I was stuck inside doing plumbing and drywall.

Some of us "Northerners" need to stay behind and protect the Northern borders.

This thread just reminded me that I still have two Coleman catalytic heaters. Good reminder, those bad boys really put out heat when you need it…

Woke up this morning at minus 2. I have 2 thermometers set up now.
One at the front of the house and one at the back of the garage. The
garage one is now at minus 4 and the house at minus 3. Weather at
the airport is calling for up to a minus 29 wind chill. Just in case, I put
a heater in the pump house with fan. Probably have 2 days of this then
a small warm up......Electric bill showed up and it was an estimated low
ball ?? Sending them an extra $50 bucks over that nonsense.

Central Ct. 2:45PM and it is 7* with a real feel of -8, coldest so far this year, but wait they say tomorrow is going to be colder. Right now, last night's snow fall is blowing around as if we were in the middle of a blizzard.

They are calling for -15degrees (WC factor) in NYC tomorrow. I can't remember it EVER being that cold. This global warming is kicking some butt!

Wind chill for 8AM tomorrow is supposed to be -27 -30 on the thermometer it is going to be -7 or 8, this is the coldest I've seen since the 70's. But I was in my 20's then not 74 and arthritic.
My wifes brother and his kids live in south Fla. and they thought it was bad at 30.

Yup! My property has the Agricultural Exemption. It’s pretty common around here. We have Aodad, Fallow Deer and Black Buck on our property. We are an “Exotic Game Ranch”, officially. Our neighbor has a herd of Elk. Drive around here and you’ll see all kinds of different species. There was a Rhinoceros for sale, a couple years ago for $2500! I wondered why it was so cheap until I thought about the “fence” needed to contain the beast. I was going to buy my wifey a giraffe because she’s almost blind and I figured she could see it, being so big. I backed off when I found out they go for upwards of $600,000!

It was 2 degrees here in the middle of the night when I heard a loud BANG. As it turned out, one of my Anderson windows exploded. This happened once before about 20 years ago.

I’ve lived in Utah for 45 plus years

This is the weirdest stretch of weather I’ve ever seen

Spent yesterday on the dry dusty desert at 60* (gray Land Cruiser)

At 6200’ elevation….80 miles that a county road grader just drove

Today another 60* I had to get my pressure washer out

You guys need to send that snow to the west…please

Yea I can see by your picture that this could not work for us. Cathy has 2 mini-Aussies that she does agility competitions with. This many large critters in the yard would give them heart failure.
